Smart dress for older woman

My mum is 86 and will be attending a wedding in the summer. Mum has asked me to find her a dress from the internet as she thinks there is more choice. Generally her clothes come from the local department store but nothing in there suitable for wedding.

In terms of style it needs to be button up at the front to make it easier to put on, calf length, lilac, tailored with a matching jacket and under £200.

I've looked on line at John Lewis but cannot find anything that I think mum would like. Please can you share your suggestions of shops/websites to have a look at.

Thanks!

I've had a similar search for a relative, and it isn't easy to find clothes that are easy to put on, which are the right colour, style, price etc....usually some compromise has to be made! There are companies like David Nieper which have pretty clothes aimed at an older market, Able Label is worth a look (stylish adaptive clothing) www.theablelabel.com/ and also Patra and Edinburgh Woollen Mill. Patra have this one...might be worth a look. www.patra.com/Products/SDZ/patra-cotton-linen-dress.

There is this one at John Lewis but it’s probably not quite what she had in mind.
Would she consider a skirt and jacket as there seem to be quite a few lilac ones around?

Mine is almost 88 and we found a lovely dress and matching cardigan in Hobbs for my wedding. Kind of royal blue.

I couldn't find dresses meeting all parameters but Mint Velvet at Debenhams had a lilac blouse and there were lots off skirts if separates are an option

Thank you all so much. I will have a look at the suggestions.

Op
Does it need to be very formal?
Also what size etc is your Mum? And must it be a certain material and definitely lilac?

I wouldn't discount eBay for wedding guest outfits. You can search on Lilac and the size, budget for dry cleaning and any alterations. There's a lot more choice than the high street and these sort of outfits are usually only once worn. Always ask for measurements and better photos if the listing is a bit vague, and a lot of sellers accept returns too.
