TTC and Retin A

Hello,

At what point should the use of Retin A stop if TTC?

Are glycolic, hylauric (sp?), and salicylic acids okay to continue to use?

What are the pregnancy alternatives?

Thanks :)

I would stop using Retin A completely if TTC. Acids are fine.

Thank you :)

What about OTC retinol?

lolacola13 · 18/06/2018 12:35

u have to completely stop the retinol when preg but I think theglycolic things are ok but maybe just lessen how often u use them , only due to sensitivity whilst preg etc

Salicylic acid is not recommended orally during pregnancy, and because of that, they also recommend not using it topically.

Retinols should also be avoided, even the OTC versions.

Glycolic acid and hyaluronic acid are fine to use afaik.

Thanks Riskit! Will read the article :)

There is some conflicting advice on the use of salicylic acids when pregnant. It’s not like you’re drinking it hence absorption into bloodstream is going to be nil.
