ASOS - Is it any good?

I've never bought anything from ASOS. I am keen to have a wardrobe overhaul. ASOS products look good and they have a huge range in my budget. Am increasingly disappointed in high street clothing and the quality. How have you found ASOS? What to avoid? Any tips? Thank you.

I filter by size always. That cuts it right down. Then I filter by cost as I'm quite tight, lol.

But tbh most of the time I just see something somewhere and go to the app and put in "striped oversized t-shirt" into the search box. Their search box is really really good.

Sometimes I just search vague terms I know I like, like "embellished" for example, and filter by "New" as I've seen the older stuff before. Or if I haven't, I filter Low to High as they're v v good at whacking things in the sale.

And there are some brands that suit me that I keep an eye on by going to New In and just filtering to that specific brand.

In love with ASOS too, especially as they stock smaller sizes. Everything I have bought has been pretty good quality. Good delivery and returns.

The amount of choice is overwhelming but their website is more user friendly than most. Need to disciplined and seperate my work/home/going out wardrobe!

Love ASOS - good quality, sizes usually fit and is usually my first stop before I even go to the high street if I need something new. Definitely sit on things a while till they go on sale though. Returns are really easy to do too! Much easier than other online retailers. Check out their marketplace section for unique vintage finds too

Some of my fav items of clothing are from ASOS. I Don't buy a lot of clothing but the bits I've had from there are great quality

Ohdobakeoffdear · 18/06/2018 00:10

I love asos. Website is very user friendly and customer service second to none ime. I also have the next day delivery thingy for convenience. As for the quality it can be a bit hit and miss at times but I have never had any issues even when returning a worn item (for example because it didn’t survive the first wash).

ASOS as website is brilliant and easy to use with wide range of products. I tend to stick to their premium range and usually buy there Ralph Lauren, Armani or Versace and Tommy Hilfiger on sales that cost as much as high street..ASOS own range and other affordable clothes are of very poor quality which is a bad investment over all.

£10 a year for next day delivery on every order. It's fantastic + free returns

NClikecrazy · 18/06/2018 08:58

It would be great to have a what to buy from ASOS thread with links and stuff. What do you think?

Botanicbaby · 18/06/2018 13:03

I hardly use them anymore the quality has dropped significantly over the last few years and I got sick of returning items and chasing refunds.

Agree the website is very user friendly and the wish list is great.

ElspethFlashman · 18/06/2018 15:15

Well I don't recommend the socks. They have really cool ones but the quality is shit and they shrink a bit.

I have also heard the own brand basic white t shirts are crap.

The jeans are good. I'm living in a pair of ASOS jeans this summer. I like that you can get ones that are (prepare to puke) bang on trend and they don't cost much.

It's always the first place I look for wedding shoes as the selection is so vast and they have New Look and River Island shoes etc.

I've had a fair bit of luck with Monki on there, though the sizing is batshit vanity sizing. Apparently I'm a medium in Monki when I'm a 16 these days everywhere else!

Freshprincess · 18/06/2018 15:23

Their own brand stuff is really hit and miss IMO, but returns are really good. I also sit on wishlist items till it’s in the sale.

Their website is really good though, filters on pretty much everything you can think of. Also like that they do a good tall range and always put height details of models.

ElspethFlashman · 18/06/2018 16:33

Also love that they don't airbrush. Though it's probably a practical decision considering the huge turnover, but it is nice to see real skin. Some of the Curve girls are absolutely banging!

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 18/06/2018 16:55

Of course they airbrush lol. A friend of a friend works for them doing just that (retouching photos).

ElspethFlashman · 18/06/2018 17:11

Well they do a shit job then as you can see all their cellulite! Grin
