In need of shorts

I can't seem to find any shorts that suit me. I'm a size 8/10 but only 5'3 so short of leg and sturdy of thigh Smile
We're going to Turkey in the summer holidays (heaven help us with the heat!) and I'd like some lightweight shorts. I have one pair of denim ones which'll be too hot. Any I've found seem to be too tight around the thigh or too thick.
I was hoping not to spend more than £20 per pair.
Any suggestions wise ones?

H and m have lovely chino style that come in lots of colours . They are a bit like the Biden ones but cheaper 🤗

I'm pretty sure I've tried on those Next ones and they're too tight around the thigh.

The H&M ones are quite tailored - I guess that's the chino style. I think I'll have to get some to try and see how they fit style wise.

I was wondering if some looser or more relaxed style could work. I feel my legs look better in my pyjamas shorts than many of the chino styles I've tried!!

Pj shorts? Primark, they've loads in (no good for me, I wasn't structured)

Ellapaella · 15/06/2018 15:02

What about something like this? There are loads around, I got these in peacocks last summer but they all over the high street shops. Please excuse corned beef legs in photo.

I got some in Primark, loose chino style for 8 pounds, they have loads of cotton summer shorts, all styles and good for holidays, I am only 5.1 so know what you mean about having shorty legs. Enjoy your hols.

I actually haven't worn these more than a couple of times on a beach holiday last year as I'm not a fan of me in shorts. I got the Boden Rachel ones this year though and love them. They are very flattering and would definitely recommend them.

PrincessWatermelon · 15/06/2018 17:38

Sounds like I need a good nose around Primark. Thanks for the suggestions.

I'm scared of the Boden Rachel ones - I've just had a look at images and they either look long (which I don't want) or too tight. I think the looser more relaxed style is what I'm going for.
