Using a muslin cloth to cleanse face

I've bought a Liz Earle sample pack to try, which includes her wash and polish. You wipe it off with a muslin cloth but I'm not sure of the right way to do it.

Do you scrunch it up into a ball and rub that way, or use it flat please.

Just damp the cloth and do whichever you prefer, I loosely scrunch mine

I use it like a flannel. In fact, most of the time, I just use the flannel.

(live on my own, only use flannel on face and neck before the flannel police arrive...)
