I haven’t bought anything from them for a while, but I do buy from Mango, are they muc the same ? I’m a 12 , not sure if that is their medium ? They used to be very tiny, I’m wondering if that is still the case.

I found them true to size.

I bought two tops from Zara a few weeks ago online. I'm a standard 10 pretty much in every high street store so ordered medium thinking it was a safe bet. They were both so small even my 7 year old couldn't get in to them! Utterly ridiculous. I get vanity sizing and all that but if a 7 year old can't fit into an adult medium then something is definitely amiss! I am pretty flat chested but the tops barely covered my bra.
I'd recommend going into a store and trying i because the returns process is awful as well. It's taken 3 weeks for my refund to come through after they failed to tell me on 3 occasions when parcel force were coming to collect the return. And they don't put a returns label in with the packaging.

Zara's sizing is unbelievably small. I'm a size 10 but have to buy large in their stretchy trousers/jeggings. Everyone I know who's shopped there has the same problem.

lenalove · 12/06/2018 10:34

As Ellapaella said above, their sizing can be all over the place. I'm also a standard 10 and as a rule of thumb go for a medium (note I'm top-heavy so need extra boobage space!). I would order a L as a size 12 to be on the safe side.

Ferrero83 · 12/06/2018 10:37

I'm 5,8 a size 10-12 and buy a Zara large for a comfy fit, medium is usually a bit snug

SirVixofVixHall · 12/06/2018 10:43

Oh gosh maybe I need a large then. They have that annoying thing where you give your height and weight, rather than measurements, to judge a size. This is saying medium and I’m a medium in Mango, but I remembered reading that Zara are tiny. I can’t get into a shop as I live in the back of beyond, so it has to be online. I suppose I can order both sizes but that is annoying if I’m buying a few things.
Ellapaella that is mad ! A medium too small for a little girl !

I’m five eight too, well just under but I like to round it up... 12 in bottoms, 10 in tops if they are stretchy as I am busty but have a narrow rib cage.
It is a loose body skimming sort of a dress. Maybe I’ll just buy the large.

Aargh while I dithered they soldier out of the large. Have bought the medium , will update on the fit when it arrives.

Zara is true to size, hope they stay that way and don't end up kowtow to vanity sizing like H&M.

Ellapaella · 12/06/2018 12:28

Lol at vanity sizing. I think being a size 10, weighing 9stone 4 and being 5'7 that it's fair enough to presume I'd be a size medium. Unfortunately medium was minuscule. I couldn't give a hoot whether I was a 10,12, 14, small, medium or large as long as something fits nicely and feels comfortable!

Littlechocola · 12/06/2018 12:30

I love their clothes and love that I can buy clothes that fit!

RantyMare · 12/06/2018 12:37

I'm a ten to 12and recently bought a jumpsuit from there in a12. It was absolutely MAHOOSIVE. Would easily fit a tall size 14/16.

CrackingCheeseGromit · 12/06/2018 12:38

I’m a 12/14 and walked out when their XL jumpers were far too tight.

rememberthetime · 12/06/2018 12:46

YOU have to pick and choose from them. I am a size 16 and know that I can't wear their trousers, tops or straight skirts - but many of their clothes etc lately are designed to be oversized. I've bought a few dresses that are shapeless sack like affairs and they look fabulous on me - might not on someone else though.

hildabaker · 12/06/2018 12:51

I'm a size 14 and found that L works for me in Zara, but yes I find that the sizing does vary.

MinesaPinot · 12/06/2018 13:14

Likewise, I'm a size 14/16 and go for a L or XL depending on cut.

I have never been able to wear their trousers, even when I was a lot slimmer. They don't seem to cut for belly and bum, of which I have a fair amount!

SirVixofVixHall · 12/06/2018 13:51

The girls clothes are pretty big, on their charts dd (13) would need an age 6-7 to get the right waist. She is very slender, but the contrast is odd between the girls and women’s things.
