Unscented shampoo

Why is this so hard to find now? I used to be able to get Superdrug or Asda own brands whereas now it's quite hard even to find Simple in stock. My branch of Superdrug don't have any unscented shampoos at all now.

Like many people, I can't afford to spend upwards of £10 plus P&P to order premium brands. And even Simple have stopped doing their deep conditioner (and their amazing illuminating moisturiser, wtf??).

So, part rant but also part question- why are unscented products being produced less and less?

I got some yesterday in my local eco/hippy shop but cannot remember the brand at the moment.

On the high street, Holland and Barrett stock Faith in Nature fragrance free;

You can order Simple online via Amazon. I do this sometimes. As you say, not everywhere stocks it which is weird.

E45 shampoo is fragrance free and is sold in boots if that helps?

Branleuse · 11/06/2018 14:54

faith in nature do a fragrance free. Ive seen it in health shops, Holland and Barrett and oxfam. Occasionally TKmax

SilverDragonfly1 · 11/06/2018 16:23

Thanks all! The e45 one sounds hopeful. I saw faith in nature when I was searching online, but that is right at the top of my budget on a good week. I will be keeping an eye out for deals on it though! And will definitely be checking Amazon.

It's buy one get one half price at H&B just now

Dandeliontea123 · 11/06/2018 17:55

I have seen the Faith in Nature unscented shampoo in bigger branches of Superdrug. Sometimes they have good discounts on it.

Morsecode · 11/06/2018 20:30

Don't bother with the Faith in Nature unscented, it is packed full of salt and dried my fine hair right out from the first wash.

Meant to say, some baby shampoos are fragrance free. Not sure which ones exactly, but I was lucky in the baby aisle when I needed fragrance free.

MiriAmmerman · 11/06/2018 20:38

In our area Poundland always has Simple shampoo and conditioner (full size bottles) - might be worth a look?

ScottishG · 11/06/2018 23:50

Waitrose Pure shampoo and conditioner are scent free. £3.99 each. I stock up when they are on offer.

SilverDragonfly1 · 12/06/2018 07:39

That's handy to know ScottishG! We don't have a very local waitrose but it would be worth making the trip.

Miri, I usually get it from there! But sometimes they don't have any in and then I'm stuck. I'd like to be able to get things like a deep conditioner as well! Trying to work out why fewer and fewer shops stock unscented hair products and discontinue their own brands. It's not hard to get unscented facial products after all!

Out of interest Silver, do you mind me asking why you prefer unscented? For me it's due to migraine which can be set off by strong smells. As I've used less and less scented stuff I have become more hyper sensitive to smells. When I walk through perfume departments or past Lush I hold my breath! Absolute worst for me is scented air freshener. I prefer to open the window to freshen up a room!

SilverDragonfly1 · 14/06/2018 09:24

I get folliculitis. Any scented product on my hair sets it off. Also get itches from scented soaps or cleansers. I know what you mean about the less you use, the less you can tolerate though! It's got much worse since entering peri-menopause.

Luckily I don't get headaches from scents, but I can't bear air fresheners! They make me feel sick because when I was pregnant I suddenly found them nauseating and now I feel ill by association.
