Understated elegant brands

I am looking to buy a mulberry hand bag (small Amberley). This is going to be my very first luxury hand bag. When I was searching for threads in mumsnet for reviews, I found out several brands I haven’t even heard of but have lovely bags than mulberry. This kept me thinking how little I know about these understated elegant brands. The type that Kate Meddleton or Pippa would wear. Could you please let me know if you know any of this kind of brands for clothes, shoes and hand bags.
The ones I know are;
Demellier of London
Strathberry
Knomo
Brora
Penelope Chilvers

Any one?

Have you checked out Village England? Prices are not the same as Mulberry but I love them - I have the Penshaw, which is not so understated, but I think the quality is amazing.

Or Mimi Berry is fab? A bit more like Cambridge Satchel (unlined, structured bags).
Good luck!

Also look at Manu Atelier.

Strathberry have beautiful bags!

Have a look at Le Parmentier, they have a lovely selection.

Have you looked at Aspinal of London. I have bought a few bags from them recently and really like the quality, cheaper than Mulberry and usually a discount code every couple of months.

My last one was a large Lottie which I use all the time.

Thanks for very helpful comments. Currently I am leaning toward Mini Venice from Demellier.
I really like the bags in Village of England too.

Following with interest

If you like something with a little more personality, have a look at Hill and Friends. Emma Hill was the head designer at Mulberry at few years ago and you can see the similarities. I have 2 of their bags and the quality is excellent.

Lot of lovely suggestions. Many thanks. Apart from the bag I want to go for that elegant dressing look another thread is talking about. So please let me know any clothes brands too. So far most of my clothes are from;
Hush
Hobbs
White company
Gap

Also watching with interest. Hope you find something you like Loki

What sort of occasion do you want clothes for?
Most of my (corporate) workwear comes from LK Bennett and Jaeger (for skirts). Fine knits from LKBennett, John Smedley. Silk tops and blouses from Reiss mostly. Shoes from LK Bennett, Bobbies and Sezane.
I sometimes get nice things from Jigsaw but their current collection is a bit odd IMO.
Bags - I have a De Mellier mini Berlin and I love it.

Lokki · 11/06/2018 11:15

I am mostly looking for work and casual clothes please. I love Jaeger too but haven’t heared of John Smedley or Bobbies. I will have a look. Thanks

Ok I had a look at Bobbies shoes and in love with the summer sandals they have. This is exactly what I was after when I asked for help in this thread. Never heared of Bobbies shoes before.

Jaeger has gone bust.Confused

TrollTheRespawnJeremy · 11/06/2018 13:27

You can find jaeger in tk maxx- obviously older season but their bretons are pretty timeless.

peonylover22 · 11/06/2018 13:42

Actually I think Jaeger are still going. The business did go into administration but it appears it got a new owner last summer.

MinesaPinot · 11/06/2018 13:44

ooh Baconbinge some of those Le Parmentier bags are lovely, and very well priced.

I have put the link in my favourites....!

Lokki · 11/06/2018 15:20

I do like Mulberry bags and have bought a few in the past but have recently bought a bag from this company

Deathraystare · 14/06/2018 10:35

I have heard (from a fellow receptionist who has LOTS of bags) that Mulberry are quite heavy.

TeaAddict235 · 14/06/2018 11:00

You can still buy Jaeger stuff. I've bought and had 2 deliveries of clothes this year. The quality is still very good.

But agree that the dresses are great for work.
