Swimwear with plenty of coverage

Has anyone bought a swimsuit from Kortni Jeane? Found them on Instagram (lovely patterns) and particularly like the bottoms with little ruffles making them more like shorts - but they're pretty expensive, would love to know if there are other, cheaper brands that make swimming costumes you don't feel self-conscious in? Also like the top that's more like a cami, rather than being clinging. Have been searching for swimwear for ages and it's so hard to find bottoms that aren't really high-rise!

Maybe go for a tankini and bottoms combination. I bought some swim shorts from Sports Direct. Like bikini bottoms but with longer legs. And I bought a swim skirt from Sainburys.

I can't help, I'm afraid, but me too. I've been looking for a new bikini for years - literally - and I can't find anything with enough coverage for my tastes. I used to be able to find them, but they have all gone too skimpy in the cups and too high-cut in the legs now - also, I want one with two straps, not a halter-style, and that makes it even harder.

Time have a look at Bravissimo, they often have bra shaped tops and bigge bottoms. I can’t wear a halter neck as they give me horrendous headaches, so I always look for properly strapped tops.

I’m not happy with my post baby body so I got the following:

Push up bikini top;
Zip up swim shirt which covers the shoulders but you can zip it to just above the cleavage for that “kids swimming lessons sexiness”;
High cut bikini shorts;
Short board shorts over the top.

It’s a lot of stuff but I feel I have all bases covered here. Wink

Ooh, interesting about Sportsdirect having swim shorts. A few years ago, you could get them in a few high street stores but now I'm looking again I haven't found any. Thanks.

Op Pour Moi do shorty bottoms very like the ones from Kortni Jeanne, have a look at their website. They are waist high with a little ruffle at the leg, they have floral and solid colours, you can then team with your choice of bra top or tanking top.

Oh that's interesting, @SirVixofVixHall. I'll have a look.

Last year, I spent ages trying on every single one of a vast range of Pour Moi bikinis. None of the tops fitted - which was a terrible shame, because they look exactly like the right sort of thing. And it's weird, because Pour Moi bras fit me just fine.

SirVixofVixHall · 09/06/2018 21:32

That is weird , you would think they would base the bikini bra tops of their regular bras. I haven’t tried them but I am tempted, as I like the high waisted bottoms, and I need proper straps.

Time you might like the Amalfi bikini on the Bravissimo website.

Time40 · 09/06/2018 21:47

@SirVixofVixHall - thank you. I will definitely have a look at Bravissimo. I never realised they did standard cup sizes - I thought they only did larger-than-standard stuff.

SirVixofVixHall · 09/06/2018 22:20

Well they start at a D in some back sizes, I would do the bra intervention measuring too if I were you as you may be a smaller back/ bigger cup than you think, most women are.

I've seen some nice tops in Asda and then plain black bottoms easily available online.
I have one for the pool at the gym that's a lot more coverage but not fashionable from speedo
