Olaplex 3 or salon treatment?

This is a non-problem really but I'm tired and can't decide.

My long (coloured) hair is really damaged and I think Olaplex will probably help. My usual hairdresser doesn't do it. He's a great colourist - I've had so many professional disasters with my hard-to-match natural colour that I'm scared to try anyone else - but I'm not so crazy about his cuts.

So anyway, right now I'm tossing up between an Olaplex salon treatment and a trim (no colour) at a reputable salon I know of, or starting with trying Olaplex 3 at home. Money's certainly not unlimited but it's not my main consideration: value for money/good results is.

WWYD? (Yes, I agree, my 'problem of the day' is one that most of the world would envy.)

My understanding is that no. 3 won't be much use without having had 1 & 2 done in a salon? I get it done at the salon but don't shell out for the no.3 so I'm the opposite! But I do find it helps with the condition of my hair particularly when getting highlights.

I just use number 3 to help with frizz and heat damage. I can see a difference and my hair is smoother.

Interesting.
I think I’ll have to wait a week to book an appointment anyway (due to being busy at work) so I’ve got time to think it over. Salon treatment will be pricey without a colour, but I’m not letting them colour my hair so not much choice really!

I buy Olaplex 1and 2 on line and use it as a stand alone treatment. It's made a huge difference. My hair was very weak. My hairdresser also uses it when applying my colour.
I do have Olaplex 3, but don't use it regularly. I find my regular conditioner is fine, but when I can be bothered to use Olaplex 3 I realise I should use it every week!
My hair is in much better condition. I tend to leave 1and 2 on overnight when I apply it myself, and my hair is much stronger and smoother.

Where do you buy Olaplex 1 and 2 please?

Sunshineatbeach · 09/06/2018 21:37

Usually from amazon, although I've had last two travel sets bought as birthday presents so not bought it for myself for ages. I tend to look for set in a box of 3, one of Olaplex 1 and two bottles of Olaplex 2.
