Slimmer summer holiday wardrobe

I've been a size 16 most of my adult life, up to a size 18 last spring. I've lost 4 stone and need to buy some new size 12 clothes to go on a sunny holiday this summer.

I've always gone for maxi dresses and cropped trousers and tops on holiday before. I've started looking and I'm just overwhelmed with options. Does anyone have any must haves or have seen any lovely dresses/skirts/shorts anywhere? I want to take advantage of being slimmer and wear some slightly more revealing looks that flatter my new shape. Have already bought a bikini!

Book a style consultation with John Lewis or a good department store. The stylist will help you choose styles which suit your body shape. There's no obligation to buy but it'll give you lots of ideas for future shopping trips. Plus, it'll save you money on buying clothes which don't suit you.

If you are going to be by the pool and feeling conscientious have stuff to throw on if you want to walk around. Enjoy yourself OP and feel wonderful and have a great holiday Smile

Well done on your weight loss have a fantastic holiday. I've just been browsing Next's holiday range and though it's not somewhere I usually shop they've got some lovely summery dresses.

Well done on the weight loss - I’ve lost nearly 4.5 stone although want to lose another 2, am currently a 12
I’ve been buying linen shorts from next M & S and Sainsbury’s - most of my tops are from TKMaxx
I’m loving shift dresses and linen fitted ‘Audrey Hepburn’ styles
Going much shorter than I’ve ever done before so mid thigh for shorts and above the knee for dresses
My arms aren’t too bad so buying vest tops or sleeveless too, I still can’t do shoestring straps though as am a 34G

Thanks @FizzPopping will have a look in Next.

@JaceLancs Well done on your weight loss too! 👏🏻 Linen shorts sound like a great idea.

You should try asos as you can order loads and send back what you don't want. You can shop by occasion and pick holiday, in that section there are lots of lovely holiday dresses. Definitely check for the 100% cotton items though, there are some there. The swimwear is great too.

If its there own brand stuff you might actually be a 10 as they are made quite big I find.
