Do these have any style or just look comfortable?

I struggle with very flat sandals and ones that have no padding or support. If I look at these with gladiator sandals in mind then they look quite cool but also I can look at them and only see comfort and no style at all. Am I wrong in thinking they would look ok with jeans and a white broderie top or a midi dress etc which is my summer style. If I would compare my style to anyone it would be Laura Fantacci from witblog if that helps, although I don’t look like her and nowhere near as petite

I like them. Smile

fessmess · 07/06/2018 17:30

They look like something my 94 year old neighbour wears.

Thanks both, such differing opinions! That’s my problem with them, and often with clark’s shoes, if I look at these with a squint in one direction I could convince myself they are the very expensive and fashionable Ancient Greek sandals, then if I look the other way they just look like comfortable sandals that are made by clark’s. There’s a fine line between these and nice gladiators though, is it that the straps are too wide and the footbed looks too comfy? I reckon if they didn’t have that padded footbed they could look fashionable but it’s the padded footbed I need!!!

They're probably the nicest you're going to find with a padded footbed.

If you wore them with slacks and a fleece then yes, they might look a little nursing home. Keep the rest of your outfit fresh and youthful and I think you can make them work.

Thanks bugjune. I like to think my style is pretty fresh and youthful but these have got me pondering whether I can carry them off or not!
Do you ever get that thing where you just can’t work out what style something is even though you’re looking right at it?! It’s a bit like saltwater sandals I guess, some people can only see toddler shoes whereas other people see them as a bit hippy and cool

I like them.

troodiedoo · 07/06/2018 17:51

I think they are nice. Agree with @Bugjune keep the outfit as young as is appropriate.

With some denim shorts and a white vest or t-shirt, they would look cool.

harajukubabe · 07/06/2018 17:51

I like them.

Bugjune · 07/06/2018 18:02

Saltwater are definitely toddler shoes. Grin

Oddbutnotodd · 07/06/2018 19:53

I was expecting something awful but I think they’re nicer than the saltwater ones.

mimibunz · 07/06/2018 19:56

I’ve never found Clarks comfortable. The leather isn’t soft. Try Gabor or Moshulu?

JemmimaJ · 07/06/2018 20:04

I'm sorry but to me they look ugly. Sorry again.

DrLucyMaxwell · 07/06/2018 20:12

I have the same problem and recently bought these from (the shame!) Hotter. I really only like very flat shoes and sandals, so I’m still trying to convince myself they’re nice, but they’re extremely comfortable!

I like those! I would get some if I wasn't skint.

Paintbox · 07/06/2018 21:02

The second pair troodie?

OP posts:
troodiedoo · 07/06/2018 21:23

Yeah, in tan. You can't go wrong with a tan sandal really. Classic.

Passportto · 07/06/2018 21:36

I like them too. There are prettier shoes on the market but for shoes you can wear all day they're a lot better than most.

Paintbox · 07/06/2018 21:42

Thanks everyone. I might try the M&S ones and see how they compare

These are lovely

animaginativeusername · 07/06/2018 22:43

The initial Clark's sandals, look comfortable and on trend

TantricTwist · 07/06/2018 23:31

I like the Clarks ones I would wear them, esp with the comfy footbed.
