Please help find a backpack for work

I need a new backpack for work and general day to day use.

My current one is similar to this www.radley.co.uk/speckle-dog-medium-zip-top-backpack-ss18-d50b67/

I like that it's fairly smart.
I like that it doesn't stick out too much (some backpacks do and you end up hitting things).
I like that there's separate pockets.
I find it just that bit too small.

Budget wise it depends how good it is (helpful!) but I guess up to £80? If a bit more there might be a discount day.

Thank you!

I have a brown leather one by Cultured London. I love it. It's slim, fits my laptop, water bottle and other shite needed. Can't link as on phone but they have loads of different ones.

Thanks that looks nice. Seems to be a little bit bigger, maybe less pockets. I'll see what else they do.

I cycle to work so need a fairly smart backpack. I got mine from Whistles expensive but the quality is excellent.

BeginningToWobble · 07/06/2018 16:22

I have a Herschel Post. But it has no internal pockets except the laptop sleeve and drives me batty. There's not even a key clip, I use the label to clip my keys onto.

Have you seen the KanKan ones?

RandomMess · 07/06/2018 16:29

I mean KanKen! Well designed and durable.

BessMarvin · 08/06/2018 06:49

Thanks for the replies.

Whistles do look good but yes rather pricy!

Several pockets is a must or I can never find anything!

I like the look of the kanken ones. Especially like the idea of the recycled option! It may take a while to commit to a colour choice! Smile

Look around and you may be able to get a discount code, I know the colour choice is huge!!!

I have a Day Birger Mikkelson one like this. I love it because the nylon means it's feather light before I fill it with my laptop and stuff. I find leather ones get so heavy. But it wouldn't work if you prefer a more structured affair. Good inside pockets and outside zipped one. I shove a water bottle and brolly in the side ones. And olive colour goes with everything. Smile

There's a smaller version too, I see. I def need the large.

What about

miatui.com/collections/backpack

WhatTheFrock · 08/06/2018 12:59

Check out Knomo if you need to carry a laptop. https://www.knomobags.com/uk/berlin-backpack-black.html?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIprGPgIHE2wIVrZPtCh1dsgPCEAQYAiABEgKGzDD_BwE

Not cheap but very well made and designed. Lots of pockets Smile I use mine daily but you wouldn't know it 3 years on.

QueenOlives · 08/06/2018 13:13

Lots of good ideas. Following too !

BessMarvin · 08/06/2018 18:11

Thanks there are some really useful ideas here. Think I'll have to have a good look at the weekend and choose since my bag zip isn't working properly.

Just been emailed a code SUMMER15 for 15% off!

BessMarvin · 09/06/2018 22:06

For the kanken ones? That's interesting. I signed up for their newsletter and haven't had it. I take it it's a general use one?

Thanks!

Worth a go?

ArkAtEee · 09/06/2018 23:36

Would not recommend the Kanken laptop backpack. Have had mine 2 years. It's not waterproof, it's very rectangular which makes it a bit too big and the padded straps started 'going' ages ago, so not that comfortable to carry. Plus, if you choose a lighter colour, it picks up stains and dirt really easily and won't wash out (yellow...). I'm going to buy a Knomo one as soon as I have some money.

These are very popular where I live

fjallraven kanken

I second the Mia tui backpacks (especially the Sydney style).

If you don't mind patterns, there are a few half price here:

BessMarvin · 10/06/2018 12:47

Now wondering if I can afford to buy 2 bags...
