Any way to make sure I stay sleeping on my back to avoid wrinkles?

I'm getting these weird lines on my face and a clinician I saw said it was from sleeping with my face pressed up on the pillow. It's clearly better to sleep on your back but can you make sure you stay sleeping on your back after you drift off in that position?

I was trying to think what might help this and it struck my that a handmaid's bonnet might work if the "wings" were sufficiently rigid?! You can order these on ebay!!! I'm single so I could get away with it for now although it might freak out any potential boyfriends staying the night! Anything else I could do?!

So you may be wearing a bonnet and snoring with a potential new partner?Grin

Seriously though, silk pillowcase will minimise the lines on your face. If you have big boobs then you can get a silicone triangle thing to put on your cleavage area to stop that line appearing at night. Frownies are also good but your partner may wet themselves laughing as DH almost does!

Cosleep and breastfeed twins, I’ve not slept on my side since. You get less sleep then the other suggestions however and I think twins may add to getting wrinkles!

A handmaid’s bonnet Grin Grin a come on now!

I've trained myself to sleep on my back by using an orthopaedic pillow with two 'curves' on it which kind of cradle my head if that makes sense. Is not easy to sleep on your side with these pillows. Added bonus that they cured my neck and upper back pain too.
I also use a silk pillowslip by Jasmine Silk which is silk on one side and cotton on the other so cheaper than a full silk pillowslip. Means I can have two and change one every night or two. Love it

GummyGoddess What's this magical silicone triangle to stop boob creases? I might have occasionally wedged a pair of socks down my sports bra Blush

GummyGoddess · 06/06/2018 23:06

It's just a triangle of silicone that sort of sticks on your chest while upright and then prevents the skin from creasing when you're on your side. There are brand name ones and cheap generic ones but all seem really similar.

I tend to mainly tuck the duvet in when on my side as I can't stand my boobs touching while in bed!

Pfftlife · 07/06/2018 07:41

Found it thank you

memaymamo · 07/06/2018 07:46

This kind of thing is so ridiculous. How many men out there fret over what kind of pillow will give them an extra wrinkle?

Hideandgo · 07/06/2018 07:47

Please just try to accept that you can’t stop time and women aren’t ugly for having wrinkles just like men do.

I honestly dispair. What kind of half life are people leading to care so much about their looks.

ferrier · 07/06/2018 07:51

I've slept on my side all my life and have never noticed face or boob creases.

Jakc · 07/06/2018 07:53

What about sewing a tennis ball into the front of a nighty like what some people do to stop snorers by sewing it into the back.

Rainydaydog · 07/06/2018 07:58

You could try hypnosis www.hypnosisdownloads.com/sleep-problems/sleep-back

SalveGrumio · 07/06/2018 07:59

Life is too short. You won't be wishing you had fewer wrinkles on your death bed. You might wish you'd spent less time worrying about them. Getting old is a privilege not everyone has, embrace it.

Pinkvici22 · 07/06/2018 09:01

Can anyone link to a good silk pillowcase please?

Ididnthearanything · 07/06/2018 09:45

The other thing to remember is that obstructive sleep apnoea is more prevalent in back sleepers, especially as we age. So while you may not get that crease you speak of, you might have obstructive sleep apnoea and all the very serious health consequences that brings.
Just get a good night's sleep!

CutesyUserName · 07/06/2018 09:49

There a plenty on Amazon. Be sure to get one that has silk on one side only and cotton on the other or it'll slip around all over the place.

The foam wedge that I mentioned up post that I had cut can also be used to put either side (get two cut) of your hips/sides to stop you rolling over if you really want to sleep on your back.

CutesyUserName · 07/06/2018 09:50

Sorry, my comment re Amazon was meant for Pinkvici...

LapsedHumanist · 07/06/2018 09:54

V shaped pillow.

DontCallMeCharlotte · 07/06/2018 11:22

The thought of a woman purchasing a handmaid's bonnet in order to try and stop wrinkles is so ironically offensive I can't even!

Absolutely!

NobodysChild · 07/06/2018 11:33

Try one of these hats to stop you sleeping on your side. You can either have balls or poo.
