Hi. Wondering if anyone could give some advice- looking a “wow” dress for an event next weekend. Dress code is cocktail, looking something slightly below the knee, no other requirements but I do like dresses that are a little different. Budget is about £250-£300 max. Has anyone seen anything?

What do you mean by different? What colours do you like?

Clueless1980 · 05/06/2018 18:25

Thanks for your reply. Mean a little bit different from the usual coast/Karen millen/reiss

What about something from Nancy Mac? Vintage influenced styles but def not the rockabilly type! Nice fabrics/colours and not kitsch

Something like this -www.wolfandbadger.com/uk/the-victoria-dress-red/

What size are you Clueless?

What sort of shape and what's your colouring? Are there colours that you particularly like?
Bits that you like to hide?

GinUser · 05/06/2018 19:12

Hobbs Stellie?

BigFatBloomers · 05/06/2018 19:13

With that sort of budget, there's a good selection on Outnet.
Red halterneck?

Clueless1980 · 05/06/2018 19:48

Great ideas so far, thank you all. Colour wise preferably not red or orange. Style at the top can be variable but I have visible veins ad the very top of my calves so preferably below knee length

Needle & thread is always above website for this sort of thing.

ColinsVeryJolly · 05/06/2018 20:11

Ooh peas that dress is gorgeous! Wish I had an occasion —and the budget— for it.

ColinsVeryJolly · 05/06/2018 20:12

Fucks sake why doesn’t my new phone do the double line cross out thing?! Angry

goose1964 · 05/06/2018 22:09

Although it's a maxi

BigFatBloomers · 05/06/2018 22:15

Love that dress goose! Have you seen there's a jumpsuit too?

ColinsVeryJolly You need to use the formatty options below. If you click on the italicy one in the last column, it’ll put 2 hyphens in for you, rather than your phone joining them up.
