Talk to me about bb cream for acne prone skin...

Pay off for having great skin when I was a teenager is that I have awful acne prone skin as a 40 year old. It's hormonal - I have PCOS. Yeah me! 😳

Anyway! I use La Roche Posay skincare generally which is pretty magic to be honest - my skin now is better than it's been in years. But they have discontinued the bb cream I was using - effaclar bb blur - and I am bereft!

So I wondered if anyone had any recommendations for a replacement. The things I liked about bb blur were that it felt moussey and quite light, but gave great coverage. It meant I didn't feel really 'made up' all the time which was a major plus. I could top problem areas with a bit of foundation (I use EL doublewear) if needed, but generally could manage without. And importantly, it didn't irritate my skin.

So any ideas? Currently I'm back to a full face of foundation which I'd rather not be doing.

Thanks!!

Watching this thread as I'm also bereft about the discontinuation of the effaclar bb blur!

I have rosacea, not acne, but it gave brilliant coverage, had no fragrance or alcohol, and included a physical sunblock, so was fantastic for me.

Have you stocked up, Limelight? There were still a couple of tubes of the fair /light one in my local Boots at the weekend, though I used light/ medium. I've got a couple of tubes in reserve but their expiry is in 2020 so I know I'll have to find a replacement at some point.

No sadly not. I had no idea it was being discontinued and everywhere I've checked is out of stock :-(

I've got one! Bought for my daughter but she didn't like it, so literally only a couple of drops used. Is it this one?

If Bagel's shade isn't the right one, there's also one in the other shade (light/medium) on ebay at the moment, in an auction ending Saturday. The seller says they've just tried it once. It's listed under 'effaclar bb blur' - they haven't included La Roche Posay in the listing heading.

I'm place-marking as I've been looking for a bb cream with good coverage and love LRP products.

They do the tinted Effaclar but I don't feel like the coverage is good enough!

I got totally distracted by work! Still on a bb cream search though. I've managed to buy some BB Blur on eBay (an opened and used once tube) so thanks for that recommendation.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a replacement however? If it's been discontinued, ultimately I need to find an alternative. X

And Bagel yes it is that one. If your daughter doesn't want it and you still have it, could I buy it off you? Might as well stock up if I can 😂

Oh, I'm really sorry, Limelight. It's fine, an FB group I'm on has a swap /sell thingy so I put it up on there a few days ago - posted out today.

  • gone (not fine)

You would have to order online here but Perfekt skin perfection gel is lovely. You can build up colour and its the only product I’ve found of its type not to irritate acne

If you ever go abroad they sell in sephora
