I'm going to Ascot in July and am looking for a dress. I have completely fallen in love with this one but then saw the price ...What with everything else planned for that weekend - I can only really afford £80-£100.

I'd love something bold (non floral), classy and sophisticated. I'm aiming for Amal Clooney, Samantha Cameron or Kate Middleton styling as opposed to Daily Mail sidebar of shame! I'm size 16, tall and would prefer something skimming or loose skirted.

I'd love some help from you expert mumsnetters, I love discovering new brands like &Other Stories or Finery. I'd much prefer to go somewhere like that than Debenhams or House of Fraser.

Does anyone have any ideas of good places to start?

Absolutely no way you can scrape and save £75 somewhere else? Just speaking from personal experience, if you've fallen in love with that one, you won't find another you like quite as much. Which is fine but y'know...

It's the kind of dress you could wear to dinner and not look ott so you'd wear it again.

I'd love to but I've also got to find funds for a hat (80) and shoes (40) and I'm sure I have a bag that can cover it! It's for a hen do weekend so there will be plenty of other things taking my money too!
