Black dress - wedding guest

Wedding in a few weeks at a traditional stately home type venue.

Thinking about this dress, but not sure if black is a big faux pas. I live in dark colours and can’t bear the thought of brights or pastels.

Thoughts?

I like it. I don't think black is a faux pas as long as you maybe have some colour there. You could match shoes or bag to one of the colours in the bodice

I like it. It's absolutely fine to wear black, especially something like this with the flowers on. Sure the bride groom would rather their guests be comfortable and enjoy the day. I got married during winter and lots of people wore dark colours and my mil wore ivory. Everyone looked lovely and I didn't care one bit.

Yep, that's nice. Wear it.

Absolutely fine for a wedding. I would wear red or pink shoes.

I wore black dress and In was bride so it's fine to me.

Thanks everyone

Annoyingly, I very recently gave some red heels to the charity shop, they would have gone perfectly with this. An excuse to buy new shoes and a new bag 🤷🏻‍♀️
