Can I wear leopard to Ascot?

Or will I look too tacky?! Have bought a fabulous vintage style wiggle dress in leopard print and am thinking of wearing it to Ascot as it fulfils all the shape/style rules. Would wear with a black hat, bag and heels. What do you think?

Ace! It’s a neutral innit. Everyone knows that!

baublegirl454 · 02/06/2018 20:04

Ooh that's what I like to hear!
My other options accessory-wise are burgundy - reckon that would go?

Black would be better I think. Or ooooh bright pink!

LemonysSnicket · 02/06/2018 22:59

Leopard is tacky in every situation

Atalune · 02/06/2018 23:01

Could go either way I feel.

AgFilleadhAbhaile · 03/06/2018 08:33

Sounds fabulous!

calzone · 03/06/2018 08:34

I’m with Lemony.

TenuedeNimes · 03/06/2018 08:35

Not helpful but I read this as “a leotard” and popped in to advise against Grin

MiniTheMinx · 03/06/2018 09:05

I think it depends on quality. If it's beautifully made, in nice quality fabrics and is fairly demure in its overall cut and shape then it will look fab.

villainousbroodmare · 03/06/2018 09:08

Instinct says no.

Lottapianos · 03/06/2018 09:09

Go for it OP. Black accessories i would say

MsHomeSlice · 03/06/2018 09:11

i did too @tenuedeNimes and thought that won't go down well!

if there is a hint of barmaid about it then no, but if it is well cut, and hangs well, nice fabric.... then go for it.

Although I think we do need a picture to be sure.

Knittedfairies · 03/06/2018 09:26

Fine, just beware of not channeling your inner Kat Slater..

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 03/06/2018 09:42

A floaty chiffon frock might do it, a wiggle dress in leopard would be a no for me.

Growingboys · 03/06/2018 09:50

Tacky

baublegirl454 · 03/06/2018 11:48

Those of you saying tacky - are you generally opposed to leopard print?

OP posts:
Pinkywoo · 03/06/2018 11:50

I read it as leotard! Leopard print yes (maybe depending on colour?), leotard no.

Pinkywoo · 03/06/2018 11:51

Oops cross post with TenuedeNimes!

Mouseville65 · 03/06/2018 11:51

I think we need to see it 😁

buddhasbelly · 03/06/2018 11:52

Can we have a pic or a link OP?

DurhamDurham · 03/06/2018 11:53

I think to give a considered opinion we need to see the dress 😀

pieceofpurplesky · 03/06/2018 11:54

Leopard can go either way - what vintage is it? If 80s style possibly not ...

Keepingupwiththejonesys · 03/06/2018 11:54

I absolutely love leopard print clothes and think they go amazing with black

HolgerLowCarbingLoser · 03/06/2018 13:48

It will be the style and quality of the dress, as well as the type of leopard print, that determines whether or not it’s suitable, imo.

I would actually say burgundy is a very good choice for accessories. Or better yet a mix of burgundy and black to break it all up a bit.

HolgerLowCarbingLoser · 03/06/2018 13:48

Oh I agree, a photo would really be useful.
