What do you do with dark brown roots?

Just wondering what other people do.

I do actually quite like my hair. When it’s freshly highlighted it’s okay but then my roots grow and it really doesn’t look that nice ... especially if I need to tie it back. Just wondering if there are any magic solutions!

Err add waves maybe? I grew out my highlights but I have really curly hair and just avoided straightening it for a few months and stayed mega curly. On the up side I loved the growing out look once it had grown to my ears and on wards.

Maybe consider putting in lowlights similar to your natural colour to help break up the difference just as a one off?

Forgot day i kept my make up really clean and sharp and religiously painted my nails so I looked polished even if I felt like a rooty mess that made me feel better any way!

Also my hair has become so much more manageable and easy now and have no regrets about growing it out.

I’m not great with curls, my hair goes really frizzy if I don’t blow dry it!

I do a home highlight job between salon visits.

It consists of me getting a strong lightener, putting on a pair of close fitting latex gloves and taking tiny stands of hair spaced out from right at the parting in my fingers and just stroking the mix on and laying it carefully down. (Never put the mix further down than the natural hair colour is so i don't double bleach obvs) 4 or 5 strands a side max does the trick. Hair dresser just follows where i've been when she does her thing Grin

It's just enough to break up the dark roots on the crown of my head. Very wasteful mind you. I hardly even use a 5th of the mix! Been doing it years.

My hair isn’t really light - it’s a dark blonde, white caramelly in colour. So I’m not sure that would work?

Next time you have your colour done consider having balayage instead. The look is supposed to be rooty and there isn't a definite line so the regrowth is much less noticeable.
