Summer Holidays - Help me feel stylish

I have shoulder length hair and REALLY don't want to have to dry it every night in the heat before going out for dinner. Any style tips for quick and easy fabulousness?

Also, scent - a nice, light citrusy reccomendation please...

Last year I bought some nuxe heat protector, which is quite heavy and quelled frizz, and just let mine air dry. I think a bit of movement is nice on holiday.

Scent wise Jo Loves Pomelo is beautiful and citrusy. Not bloody cheap though!

PolaDeVeboise · 01/06/2018 22:50

Thanks Project. Can't quite afford Jo Loves! :D (was a massive fan of Jo Malone Grapefruit)

No, I can’t either. Got a few free samples recently and I slightly wish I hadn’t. I love it but I can’t justify the cost.

Elizabeth Arden Green Tea and all the flankers are citrussy and fresh and cheap on Amazon. The Next fragrances are popular on the perfumista threads and someone was saying they'd just bought one that was very citrussy and fresh. Don't Primark make JM dupes? Might be worth a look. For a hot holiday you want something you can splash about like a cologne so cheap as chips.

PolaDeVeboise · 02/06/2018 09:16

Exactly Count cheap and cheerful to splash all over! :D Thanks.

I have the French Connection scent, in the white box. Lovely and summery!

Can't help with hair as mine is short - but I bought the Next summer sun fragrance based on a thread on here - £8 - and it smells like holidays to me.
Had loads of compliments on it and can spray liberally at that price !

Monotheme book of citrus - available in m&s. there's a couple of them but I like the lemon one

teta · 03/06/2018 12:43

M&S island escape perfume is lovely and cheap. Citrussy, salty bergamot.

Gammeldragz · 03/06/2018 14:37

I have decided to spend the summer in fabric headbands as I am fed up with my hair. Probably not stylish though!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 03/06/2018 14:43

Another vote for Green Tea - really light and fresh and very cheap in places like Savers.

PolaDeVeboise · 03/06/2018 18:29

Oooh, love the sound of that Teta.

I love Monotheme Verbena from M&S. It’s light and fresh and citrusy but not acidy. £18 for a massive 100ml spray bottle

PolaDeVeboise · 04/06/2018 19:22

Got the M&S Island Escape - it's GORGEOUS, just what I was looking for, and only £8.50 for a bottle big enough for hols. Thanks Teta

I hate having to blow dry my hair before I go out - makes me really hot and bothered.

I often wash mine and then put some mousse in the top and comb it into having a bit of height - then i let it dry by itself and when it is dry i brush it out and run my curling tongs through the ends - I find it's a lot cooler than the dryer and doesn't take very long to do.

Not sure if that helps? My hair's a bit crap - thin and neither curly nor straight but this seems to work.

teta · 05/06/2018 08:59

Pola glad you like it. It’s absolutely stunning on my daughter. Far better than the expensive perfumes I gift ( offload) to her.
