...what would you expect someone to wear to a work experience/insight day?

Work experience for us is a school aged child. If that is the case then it would be trousers and a top. Smartish so no jeans or trainers.

A smart dress, top/skirt/trousers combo. Knee length-ish. A suit on a bloke. Not fussed about heels, but smart shoes. Tights on most occasions, but you'd get away with bare legs on a hot day. Colours are totally fine. I love a brightly coloured dress.

Smart dress or smart trouser/skirt and top combo with heels/smart flats. Nothing too short or showing too much cleavage if female. For men - suit and tie with leather shoes.

Suit for a bloke, skirt/trousers and blouse plus jack for a woman

Suit for a bloke.

Dress or top and skirt or trousers for a woman. Nothing too short or low cut. Avoid skyscraper heels as you might get taken out to a meeting and stumbling along the road like an injured gazelle will not set the right image!

Suit for a boy, depending on the office a tie might not be necessary but wear one on the first day and take their cue from the other men in the office. Always have one to hand though just in case he’s invited to a meeting.

For girls, smartish dress or smart skirt/trousers with a smart top. Nothing too short or low cut. Blazer on top. Smart flats like ballet pumps or brogues.
