Recommend me a hairdryer

Hello, my hairdryer of 10 years has just burnt out! It was a fairly cheep Remington. I have very thick hair that is curly, but I always straighten it (first blow dry it, then use GHD’s). I always have my hair cut short into a graduated bob. Which hairdryer do you think would be best? I don’t mind spending up to £70. Thanks!

I've had mine a few years so not sure how much it is but would recommend the GHD hairdryer. Dries my hair (mid length bob) really quickly.

I do really like my Parlux- DH and the DCs bought it me as a gift so I don't know how much it cost, but it's easy to hold, powerful and the flex is really long.

HolyShmoly · 31/05/2018 23:00

Parlux all the way. It's what hairdressers use and is great for thick hair, dries way quicker than others. Was a present from DH about 5 years ago and still going strong.
I haven't tried the GHD one though.

GHD recommendation here too!

Not quite a recommendation, but my dad got my mum the fancy Dyson hairdryer for Christmas, and she doesnt like it because it dries her hair too fast...Hmm😂

She says she doesn't have time to style it before it dries! So it sits in the guest room in case a visitor needs a hairdryer, and she uses a cheap babyliss one...

@MsMarvel that’s really funny about your mum! I must say that I’m put off by the price of the Dyson, and I don’t like the look of it 😂

Which version of the Parlux hair dryer do people have? I’ll have a look at GHD as well. Thanks everyone!

Does anyone use the GHD Air?

I second Parlux

Like you I have very thick hair and I had a Babyliss which died on me

The parlux cut my drying time and was much more powerful

I don’t think they make my model anymore but if you have a Sally’s beauty near you they sometimes do Vat free events.

divafever99 · 01/06/2018 07:16

Yes it's the ghd air I have. The reason I went with the air is that I've had the same pair of ghd straighteners for 15 years + so was hoping the dryer will last as long!

FirstOfMyName · 01/06/2018 07:19

Parlux. Absolutely brilliant.

candlefloozy · 01/06/2018 07:20

Ghd. By far the best

user1471541467 · 01/06/2018 08:26

It seems 50/50 then! I’ll have a good look at both. Thanks for all the recommendations Smile

I have a parlux too, love it!

SpeckledyHen · 01/06/2018 08:32

Parlux Light 385 and diffuser for my mid-length thick curly hair . I love it and will replace with the same if it ever gives up .

bingohandjob · 01/06/2018 08:32

Parlux , I love mine. Think it's this model but I've had it a few years, shopped around, think mine was around fifty quid. www.hairsupermarket.com/p/7597?r=5&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIn5CasPix2wIVwynTCh3v2QiREAQYAiABEgJ7rPD_BwE

FirstOfMyName · 01/06/2018 08:38

There’s a reason why most hairdressers use parlux!

AnythingConsidered · 01/06/2018 08:40

I was recommended the Parlux via the S&B pages too.

Not sure on the model, but it's purple and brilliant! Quick to dry, long cable, not too heavy

peachypetite · 01/06/2018 08:43

Parlux. Got mine from Amazon
