Jo Malone fragrance layering

I’ve become a little obsessed with Jo Malone scents since the recent promos, and have been experimenting with layering their fragrances.

They have ideas on the website, but for inspo, what are your favourite combinations? 🤗

Oh and I’ll start with Dark Amber and Ginger Lily combined with Wood Sage and Sea Salt

I have to say that I'm not very adventurous and tend to go with suggestions on their website - I wish they had more suggestions. I always feel like it's a bit of a waste to experiment with your own perfume!

I'm intrigued with the combo you've suggested, it never would have occurred to me. I love love love DA&GL and also have WS&SS so will have to give it a go.

At the moment I have out English Pear & Freesia, Nectarine Blossom & Honey and Peony & Blush Suede and mix two of the three. Lovely for summer!

I like to layer orange blossom and wild bluebell for the summer

Housewife2010 · 30/05/2018 20:46

Red Roses with Wood Sage & Sea Salt.

Pom noir, English pear and freesia, and nectarine blossom and honey all layer beautifully in any combo. They’re my three staples. Can’t wait to try out my new ones from the promo when I’m no longer Preggers and can stomach perfume!

Ooo there are some really nice suggestions here!

I tried a few in in the shop yesterday and happened to put the EO&H on one side of my wrist and the nectarine and honey on the other, and it was a surprisingly lovely combination!

I wore Wood Sage and Sea Salt layered under Peony and Blush Suede on my wedding day Smile love it.

FriendlyOcelot · 30/05/2018 22:25

Foxy I bet that was nice. I like Peony & BS but to me it needs a little edge and I expect the wood sage does that!

Ditto to Housewife, I’d imagine their contrasts work well!

Alpacages · 30/05/2018 22:29

friendly I have those two, I’m going to try that combo!

FriendlyOcelot · 30/05/2018 23:09

I hope you like it as much as I do Alpacages!

This is a genius way of JM selling more perfumes.... very clever of them!

I do like some of their fragrances, but I feel they are too weak to justify £90, when the perfume oil inside (about 2%) will cost a couple of quid. But each to their own. I can see why people love the brand and fragrances.

If you’re interested in exploring alternatives, I’ve recently discovered Floral Street (the shop is opposite JM in Covent Garden) - they do EDPs (20%) for only £55 (same price as JM per ml but 5-10x stronger/ longevity). I have also discovered the dupes on Perfume Parlour and Superdrug Bloom (LBM is spot on) and enjoying these.

I do still love going into Jo Malone and having a good old spray - and I bet you all smell lovely Smile

EveningHare · 31/05/2018 11:31

I only buy when they have the competitions on, and now only to get the 100ml as well

The rest of mine are gifts from people who have had them 'lying around' and they're not bothered about jm
