Hair colour remover on bleached hair?

Hi,

I've been trying to find an answer to this on google but no luck!
I naturally have very very dark brown hair. About 10 months ago I went to the hair dressers to get a blonde balayage but it turned into a bit of a disaster and she basically made 70% of my hair all blonde eek.

I dyed my hair back to brown after that. Now that my hair has grown out a bit, im thinking of using colour remover on the bleached hair, hoping i'd get like a blonde tip dye.

Can I use colour remover on bleached hair? and if I can will the bleach parts be blonde?

no, they will go an orangey colour in my experience. If you have ever had any bleach on your hair, colour remover leaves it orange. I had to then put a semi permanant on over the top in an ash blonde to get the colour I required

As said above, the colour remover will leave it orange.

You can’t use colour remover on bleached hair as bleach isn’t a colour it’s bleach which removes your hair of any colour. You will need to dye over your whole hair. The hair which has been bleached will wash up lighter no matter what dye you put on it.

Thats what I was afraid of! I want to go lighter for summer but I can't afford expensive trips to the hairdressers.

You can use a light hair dye and it will lift all your hair but I wouldn’t. There’s plenty of DIY dip dying box dyes in stores but unless you are confident and can blend it in your hair evenly then I wouldn’t try it.

Why not go to your local hair and beauty school? They offer very cheap prices for models and you are always supervised by an experienced hairdresser
