Desperately want to get a gel pedi for hols soon but embarrassingly have multiple verrucas on my feet. How can I rid swiftly and easily (I can do pain but prefer no mess!) or how I do cover for pedi?

No idea. I've been battling with mine for about 6 years!a chiropodist could file them down and you could then bazzoka/plaster them?

GreenTulips · 30/05/2018 23:27

Look at varycca plasters

They have a poison centre and work quickly

WesternMeadowlark · 31/05/2018 02:01

The only thing that worked on mine was the combination of bazuka and a nail file. The latter being something you're probably not supposed to do yourself. Apply, leave, file, disinfect, apply, leave, file, disinfect, etc, until gone.

Anyone considering doing that should use their judgement, and preferably take more professional advice than mine! But that was my experience.

AiryFairy1 · 31/05/2018 07:00

Bazooka comes with a little emery board to be used once a week, so I’d go for it .... my ds refused this step but it appears after a couple of months’ intermittent application his verrucas have fallen out. I’m ridiculously pleased Grin

jennymac · 31/05/2018 08:37

Boots have a treatment that freezes them off and it works miracles. My ds had about 5 or 6 veruccas over both feet and I was despairing that anything would work but 2 applications of the Boots treatment and a few weeks later his feet are completely verucca free. I have tried bazooka in the past and found it useless compared with the freeze treatment.

velvetcandy · 31/05/2018 11:37

Apple cider vinegar

GrainneWail · 31/05/2018 12:05

Salatac acid is brilliant. Got it otc from the chemist . Comes with a nail file. Use every day and it will work.

ChocolateTea · 31/05/2018 12:08

Bazuka is rubbish. We used a freezing treatment in the end in desperation on DS1s feet and it was brilliant. Three applications and even the huge cluster went. It bloody hurts, but it works, and fast

If you have a podiatrist near you who does it, and you can justify the money, get dry needling done. I had it years ago for 1 very stubborn verruca, which was on the ball of my foot and so painful. It was honestly the best £250 I've ever spent in my life, on anything.

ILikeMyChickenFried · 31/05/2018 12:14

I coated mine in nail varnish everyday for a month or so, filing down occasionally and it went after about 5 years of nothing touching it Envy

daimbars · 31/05/2018 12:20

Nothing from a chemist or over the counter and definitely not a nail file! It will just make them spread.

Go and see a podiatrist or ask for a referral from your GP and get them zapped.

I can't remember what my podiatrist used but it was some kind of crystal and hurt like hell but it got rid of the ones I'd had for years after 3-4 sessions.

shutthedoorbob · 31/05/2018 12:22

Apple cider vinegar nothing else worked on my sons but this worked rather quickly. I put some on every night and they turned black and went away.

Tatapie · 31/05/2018 23:24

Wow thanks. A couple of votes for bazooka and apple cider vinegar - that sounds cheap and cheerful anyway so worth a go.
Are the bazooka and freezing treatments one pack per verruca? Think there's 3 on each foot. Confused

The freezing stuff we used did three sets of veruccas three times, and there is still some in there.

MikeUniformMike · 31/05/2018 23:27

Tea tree oil. Apply to clean dry feet. It worked for me. Nothing over the counter did.

Allgirlskidsanddogs · 31/05/2018 23:30

We went to a chiropodist. Duofilm and regular filing. I was sceptical and not the best at remembering every night but it went.

wonderstar1216 · 31/05/2018 23:32

I've heard about banana skin tapes to foot overnight.... and duct tape overnight too but have not given them a try!

hammeringinmyhead · 01/06/2018 07:44

Freezing applications with Bazooka inbetween worked for my husband. Took a while though.

MrsAmaretto · 01/06/2018 07:52

I went to the chiropodist who filed my feet & the verruca then gave me salatic acid to apply. I filed the cluster verruca every few days, then went back to chiropodist for a more professional job. It took about 6-8weeks.

I’d been to the hospital to get them frozen off & it didn’t work.

QueenOfTheAndals · 01/06/2018 08:26

Don't waste your money on OTC treatments. I had a verruca for 3 YEARS that I only finally got rid of after a trip to the podiatrist. She frozen it (using a stronger solution that you can buy yourself) and then recommended I use a caustic pencil (available online) and a foot file. It was gone within a couple of months.

Passthecake30 · 01/06/2018 08:43

I've had mine frozen by a chiropodist twice now, SO painful and they still didn't go. I'm sticking with the bazooka for now.
