Make Up....what do I need?

I slap on a clinique loose powder daily with a bit of mascara and lip balm. Can't find a natural eyeshadow that I like and it pains me how useless I am with eyeliner!

I'm in my 40's and I just look tired and need to do something about it!

I have in the past used liquid foundation but despite it being colour matched I just felt it looked too 'done'.

I just want to look a better version of me, so natural but brighter and more flawless - not that I really have blemishes etc.

I want something super simple and fast that will last all day.

Have looked at Bare Minerals but there's mixed reviews.

Any advice?

What about a B.B. or cc cream ? They’re liked tinted moisturisers and usually have an spf in them. I find they even out my complexion without looking heavy.

Bare Minerals is excellent IF it suits your skin type. If it does, it can look great, even on those of us with, let's say, a more mature complexion. However, if it doesn't, it will accentuate all your fine lines, pores etc. I have stopped using it fairly recently as I have dry skin and it was starting to make me look a little dry and liney.

You could try the Boots No.7 serum foundation...I think it is called Lift and Luminate or something. Looks quite thick and pigmented when you pump it out but is really moisturising and not too heavy a coverage. Probably not that great if you are oily though.

Sounds like you might be after an illuminating/radiance type primer and then a very light base like a bb cream or tinted moisturiser. I often find cc creams have a bit more coverage so you might not like that. You could also try a cream blusher in a pinky shade to give you a healthy looking flush and maybe a cream eyeshadow. The bobbi brown eyeshadow sticks are fab and really easy to use.

bare minerals complexion rescue gel is a tinted moisturiser, comes in loads of different shades, and I find it lovely

I have never thought to look at BB/CC creams, don't even know the difference. Off to have a Google and sounds like I need a shopping trip as Well!

On your eyes you should try one of Rosie for Autograph eyeshadow sticks, they are lovely and you just blend them out with you finger. They are a dupe for By Terry Ombré Blackstar which I'm obsessed with, but I do have Rosie's too and to be honest the quality is pretty much the same!
Below is Rosie's.
