bathing suit wisdom

All I want is a bathing suit that doesn't make me feel suicidal. Im about 20 pounds overweight but Ive already lost 10 so Im ok with that ( its a work in progress). The problem is my lumpy stomach. I have had three baby related surgeries including a vertical surgery from my c-section line to my bellybutton to repair baby related hernia (rugby ball sized!). Every bathing suit seems to exaggerate the lumpiness of my stomach so Im looking for any helpful advice. I think I would want a one piece or tankini but if anyone out there has similar issues I would love to benefit from their wisdom.

Have you tried a suit with a smallish pattern, seems to work to disguise uneven skin?

I got a Miraclesuit post partum, we abroad and spend lots of time in the pool so the expense was worth it, they aren't cheap. I think Next may do them in the UK. They look bad on the hanger but it's because it has so much front scaffolding, I almost looked flat stomached, miracle indeed! Tankinis are very practical but the fact there is no structure for me in the middle didn't work. Good luck, it's depressing kind of shopping I find! I have heard good things too about the M&S Tummy control for a lower budget, might be worth a try and the patterns (as JOnnbb says) might help.

Tesco do great swimsuits . Like a cheaper miraclesuit but work well.

I have one with a little skirt on it and the Sean for the skirt is hip height so your stomach doesn't flip forward!! (Similar post surgery to you here). It's black and a bit rouched at the front and is very successful. Sort of Ballet style. It was from either Debenhams or Marks. I will check for you and get back later.

You poor thing, it sounds like you've been through an awful time of it! I haven't tried them but there were recently lots of recommendations on here for the Boden swimsuits - always easy to order a load of bits and return what doesn't suit.

It might be worth trying a wrap swimsuit. I have one like the design above and it's a big success at a reasonable cost.
