Summer skirts - plain?

Hi,

I’m tired of jean shopping and have decided to look for a decent casual skirt which I can wear with all my colourful tops so most likely plain. Should go with flats or sandals. Any ideas for something plain but stylish?

I'm afraid there aren't any such skirts, or so it seems to me. I posted a thread about this a few weeks ago. I even went to a personal stylist at John Lewis, Oxford Street and she couldn't find any-though she said she has lots of customers asking for them.

I recently bought a plain navy A line cotton/linen skirt from White Stuff.

B00dyM4ry · 31/05/2018 23:23

I have multiple linen a line short skirts - they have a draw string. BHS was fab for them but i think m&s have then too. They are super useful

I found this but it would really only suit someone tallish and straight on anyone with hips it would add too much, or at least that's my opinion

Denim pencil skirt? There are lots around.

White Stuff do good knee length linen skirts. I have them in light navy and a sort of sand colour, they go with most things.

This is a long term clothing hunt if mine! La Redoute have a few but haven’t tried any yet. I’d forgotten about uniqlo!

TheFlannelsAreBreeding · 02/06/2018 07:43

Ooh, I'm looking for one, too. But needs to be fairly full-skirted and high waisted (I'm hourglasss shaped) and knee length (to not get tripped over) in winter colours. I'll have a look through the links, but if anyone finds something fitting that description, is be so happy!

BikeRunSki · 02/06/2018 21:53

White Stuff, many colours

BikeRunSki · 02/06/2018 21:54

White Stuff, navy

AgedTawnyPort · 02/06/2018 21:57

I have got this in both colours, love it.

These are lovely

AgedTawnyPort · 02/06/2018 22:09

They are lovely nuts, but not at 50 😂!

OhTheTastyNuts · 02/06/2018 22:17

I'd happily wear them at 40! They sell a longer version too

AgedTawnyPort · 02/06/2018 22:23

How long are they, and how tall are you? I am fairly tall and they look like they would be short on me.

dontcallmelen · 02/06/2018 22:27

I got a really nice skirt in H&M a few days ago, plain khaki cotton with side pockets & self tie belt on the front was £19.99.

Eesha · 02/06/2018 22:31

I’m liking the H&M option, I often find it too messy to find anything there but this has converted me. Warehouse one looked a bit short irl. Sniff

I'm 5ft6 and it is mid thigh on me! I don't suit skirts that come below the knee though.

Longer version here:

I was on the same quest and found this:

tuclothing.sainsburys.co.uk/p/Tencel-A-Line-Skirt/133332914-MidDenim

I love it. Great with birkenstocks/skaters/trainers and a plain tee or vest tucked in.
