Under eye creasing

paceyswife · 28/05/2018 18:48

Can anyone recommend anything to reduce make up settling into creases under eyes? The rest of my face is ok but my under eye area is appalling. I think it's my make up making it look worse as it gathers in the under eye lines Sad

Recommendations and help greatly appreciated

I'm interested in this question too. I've had that issue and find that if I use Bio Oil before my foundation it looks smoother but my face is then very shiny.

BettyBooJustDoinTheDoo · 28/05/2018 19:42

Don’t know the answer but keep a foundation brush with you to smooth out the make up under your eyes every so often.

falang · 28/05/2018 19:44

Has anyone tried that Hollywood eyes product that is supposed to temporarily smooth out lines. I'm tempted to get some.

paceyswife · 28/05/2018 19:47

Ive heard pile cream is a temporary option

I use Benefit ‘Stay Dont Stray all over my eye area. works very well on my oily skin.

HarshingMyMellow · 28/05/2018 19:58

Seconding a PP, Benefit Stay Don't Stray primer and then some powder over the top once I've finished the make up.

A yellow one works wonders, especially if the under eye needs brightening.

Also, Nivea for Men Aftershave Balm (white bottle, I think) works as an excellent primer to prevent creasing. I think it contains Silicone. It's all I use now after trying multiple high-end primers to no avail.

paceyswife · 28/05/2018 20:00

Have you used the Nivea one for under eye specifically or as an all over face primer?

OP posts:
HarshingMyMellow · 28/05/2018 20:07

I've done it for both.

I don't wear primer on daily basis, but I do wear under-eye concealer. So on those days, just under the eye. Works perfectly and no budging or creasing.

Works exactly the same for a full face, especially on the forehead, chin, mouth and round the eyes!

paceyswife · 28/05/2018 21:31

Why hasn't Botox for under eye been invented Hmm

Under eye creasing
HarshingMyMellow · 28/05/2018 21:45

@paceyswife god, I don't even think Botox would help me anymore.

Face lift anyone?

itsbritneybiatch · 28/05/2018 21:48

Thank you!

We have a Superdrug not far I'm going to go first thing!

paceyswife · 28/05/2018 21:55

I've ordered it online.

I've tried instantly ageless and I thought that it was really really good but can give a chalky appearance. Not great under make up.

Beautifullymixed · 28/05/2018 21:57

Primer before foundation, used around the eyes too.

A light dab of oil under eyes if the skin is dry. Grapeseed, squalene, jojoba are all brilliant for this.

Light concealer use, correcter if necessary.
Dab with damp beauty sponge until all the concealer is smooth.

Press loose powder under the eyes with the same beauty sponge.
Really press that powder into the skin.
Brilliant ones are RCMA no colour powder, Innisfree no sebum powder, NYX banana powder.

Dust off any powder residue with a small brush.
If you are extra like me, then dust over the eyelid and the brows - before AND after shadow/liner/brow gel or pencil.

Your make up will not budge, and no creases under your eyes. Smile

The benefit under eye concealer is.good for this problem

Beautifullymixed · 28/05/2018 22:01

I love rimmel fix and perfect primer.
It's water based, and really leaves my skin soft, and moisturised, but not oily.
I use it around my eyes, and it seems to make the make up go on so much smoother, with no sticky silicone feeling.
Plus, it's only a fiver!

BagelGoesWalking · 28/05/2018 22:01

A drop of Marula oil (1 drop enough for both eyes) gently spread under the eyes before concealer seems to help.

Beautifullymixed · 28/05/2018 22:07

I also carry around my damp beauty sponge, and press it/use it to blot my skin throughout the day.
It smoothes out make up creases, or any cakey/dry areas, renoves any oil, and freshens the skin beautifully.
Then I can apply a light dusting of setting powder, which sees ne through the rest of the day.

HarshingMyMellow · 28/05/2018 22:28

@itsbritneybiatch it's well worth it, believe me! I've not looked back!

HarshingMyMellow · 28/05/2018 22:29

@paceyswife it's been a revolution for me! It doesn't clog your pores to heavily either, just gives a lovely smooth base.

Is that how much they are? Shock

daftyburd · 29/05/2018 08:48

I use the elf under eye primer. It’s really cheap and does make a difference. Not huge but still an improvement. Much better than the Smashbox one that was way more expensive.

chloechloe · 29/05/2018 10:11

If you use too much product it will crease, whether skincare or makeup. Try using a quarter of what you're used to using and see if that helps!
