We live up in north Scotland and don't have a store near us. I'm visiting friends in Manchester this week and they've mentioned a trip there... I'm weirdly excited!

Any must haves?

everything is good, but sizing can be inconsistent. try things on if possible. have fun x

Candlelight123 · 27/05/2018 21:53

Manchester has a big primark - I think it's on 4 floors! The lipsticks are good - 90p each. Sleepwear and hoodies are also good.
Kids cotton t shirts are £1.90 each too.

YouWereRight · 27/05/2018 21:56

The shoes are really comfortable.

They have bang on the door socks, which I found exciting Blush

RedPandaMama · 27/05/2018 21:58

Sizing is terrible be warned! - I have things in every size from 12 to 20 in Primark (I'm a 16 normally), also shoes in 6/7/8 when I'm usually a 7.

The beauty stuff has all been revamped and is very good! They have a new foundation which is a dupe for Estée Lauder doublewear, it's called My Perfect Match or My Perfect Colour or something like that, £5 for 32ml. Loads of shades and lovely on the skin. Eyeshadows and lip liners also good. Beauty blenders are £1.90 for 2 compared to about a tenner for a Real Techniques one.

yellowmellw · 27/05/2018 21:59

Cheap underwear and leggings etc

ShyOyster · 27/05/2018 22:02

Basics are good: vest tops, stretchy tops (both in v and crew neck), socks, also all the loungewear and pj’s. I love some of their beauty stuff: unicorn make up brushes are amazing and as pp mentioned, foundation and eye/lip liners are really good too.

Pyjamas
Teen wear
Cabin luggage

I haven’t been in there for ages, so I have no idea what I’m missing out on!!!

I would imagine (hope, for when I actually visit) that they will have some nice culottes. I’ve bought 2 pairs in there over the last few years that are made from natural fabric.

I’m also hoping that they have a round woven basket bag, a bold printed culotte jumpsuit, and a pair of real leather sandals. Oh, and some in-your-face, bright coloured tassel earrings.

I love their high waisted jeans (when they ever have my size!), and I buy all of my basic long sleeve t-shirts, vest tops, and socks in there (not very exciting).

Try everything on, no matter how long the queue is, and be prepared to accept that for some clothes you will be your usual size, whereas for others you may need to go up or down a size. It’s not you, it’s their sizing.

Happy shopping!!!

Whatififall · 27/05/2018 22:04

Pjs!
The nail varnishes are good value too. 90p and they last really well.

VioletCharlotte · 27/05/2018 22:04

Manchester Primark is huge, you'll love it! There's loads of great summer stuff in, but do try things on as the sizes are odd.

Def stock up on basics - vest tops, stretchy tshirts, socks, knickers, hair bands, etc. And their summer sandals and flip flops are good and cheap. Avoid the leggings as they're see through.

Kids clothes are great. Loads of choice, wash well and really reasonable.

mando12345 · 27/05/2018 22:04

Bras are good, stretchy tops too.

Greenteandchives · 27/05/2018 22:05

Gym and fitness wear is cheap and very comfortable if you are into that.

Figgygal · 27/05/2018 22:06

Where on earth do you live there's a primark in Aberdeen and Inverness

I was in Cheltenham yesterday and it was full of utter garbage I always buy tights there though

Argeles · 27/05/2018 22:07

Oh, their dressing gowns are also very good too. I’ve had my current fleecy one for 6 years. I’ve worn and washed it over and over, and it still looks and feels great.

fuckadoodledandy · 27/05/2018 22:08

Another vote for beauty stuff...can be hit and miss with a couple of things but is so cheap it doesn't matter.

Brushes are good as is foundation...had some really lovely cream blush from there recently and they've got lots of bronzer etc in at the moment.

Also if you have Harry Potter or Disney obsessed kids there's loads of stuff in there for stocking fillers for Christmas / smaller birthday presents. Pj's, purses etc all good value.

Clothes is probably the one thing I don't rate there any more...but probably because I'm too old...I used to love a rummage...

Whyohwhy65 · 27/05/2018 22:08

Don't get sucked in by the discount rails. Unless you know you will wear it. I get sucked in because a top is only £1 and then it sits in the back of the wardrobe.
Do you have children?
The kids clothes are always good value

Whyohwhy65 · 27/05/2018 22:10

Socks are good value too and I love the pjs. I would buy every pair if I could

Doingreat · 27/05/2018 22:11

Those of you who have tried the primark beauty blenders, are they any good?

WyldDucks · 27/05/2018 22:13

Vest tops and stretchy fitted t-shirts. Everything else i have ever bought from there has fallen apart but I have years old vest tops!

I also buy kid's trousers from there as mine have tiny waists and it's the only place that ever does them skinny enough.

Whyohwhy65 · 27/05/2018 22:14

@doongreat
I don't rate them, they feel a bit rough

Whyohwhy65 · 27/05/2018 22:15

@doingreat Grin

butlerswharf · 27/05/2018 22:16

Their bikinis are surprisingly good Smile

formerbabe · 27/05/2018 22:17

Cheap vests

90p flip flops!

LibertyBlue · 27/05/2018 22:23

I like the stretchy vest tops in plain colours with thick straps that cover your bra. They wash well, are flattering and ridiculously (too) cheap. I haven’t found better in other shops.

I also like trainer socks, stretchy lounge trousers, nude pop socks, hair bands.

RoseMartha · 27/05/2018 22:28

Suncream
Clothes wise there is such a variety something will probably catch your eye . I agree though, try it on first .
