Could you lovely ladies help me find a maxi skirts with no side slits. It’s for work in the summer months but due to client groups I work with I have to be careful with flashing much skin. Trousers are just too hot, especially as my shoulders and upper arms have to be covered. Any help would be great!

Grey house of Fraser pleated

Funny waistband but nice shape and could cover it with top.

Comes in khaki, dusky pink, navy or black too.

SporkInTheToaster · 27/05/2018 15:21

I might get the khaki & navy.

100% polyester though :(

Sainsburys have quite a few, all on 25% off this weekend. I bought 2 yesterday and they are lovely!

SporkInTheToaster · 27/05/2018 15:25

Well yes. But easy wash & wear. Possibly a touch sweaty though. It’s hard to find decent, cool fabrics that don’t crumple and wash well, at sensible prices

Thanks, the pleated one is gorgeous but I’m really bottom heavy so I look ridiculous in pleated skirts. Have ordered one from Sainsbury’s, let’s hope it looks as nice the picture when it arrives!

I had this exact problem - I bought a skirt I really liked and got a seamstress to see up the side slits. it was approx £6 for the alteration.

Candlelight123 · 27/05/2018 21:51

Sew up - not see up!

Mouseville65 · 27/05/2018 21:57

I get all mine from TK Max - they have loads and great prices.

I got this one - budget buy but does the job!

Candlelight I never thought of that! I have a black one with slits, my dad and mil are both good on the sewing machine so will ask one of them if they can have a go. Don’t want to spend a fortune.

Primemark, if you have one near you. I think they have black, grey, khaki and blue and white stripe. Wash well and only £6.

Helicobactercopter · 28/05/2018 01:19

Would something like culottes work?

OriginalGeordie · 28/05/2018 16:14

Helio sadly no, really don’t suit them!

Thanks to this thread I think I’m sorted, thank god as it looks like this weather is here for a wee while!
