Toms shoes

Couple of quick questions about Toms shoes, we've never had them (or even tried them on) but considering getting DH and I some for summer. So I just wondered...

a) are they any good for wide feet?
b) how true to size are they?

TIA x

My feet are not very wide, I’m a size 6, I live in them, have got several pairs. Hth

Sorry, meant to say they are true to my size (6)

Shmithecat · 27/05/2018 13:48

They come up a big large - I have to go down a size. My feet aren't particularly wide but they are comfy. I like them very much!

Shmithecat · 27/05/2018 13:49

A bit, not big 🙄

I don't think they are particularly comfortable for wide feet. Mine are slightly wide and they pinch...but if I went up half a size they'd be too big. These are in the classics, the university type ones seem a bit softer and run a bit large I think.

Super thank you for all your comments really useful.

Sounds like it might be worth getting some for hubby but think me (with wide feet!) might need to try some on Smile

I think the sizing is a little inconsistent so definitely try a few pairs on... I had a pair that I wore til they totally wore out, bought another pair the same size and they are a bit small. I think they come up a bit narrow but they do give when you've worn them a few times. I loved mine!

ballroompink · 27/05/2018 22:03

I have quite wide feet and love them. I am a 5.5 or 6 in shoes and I find that a 6 is tight width-wise for the first couple of wears, then they stretch out and are so comfortable.

HyenaHappy · 27/05/2018 22:05

I’m a 5/5.5 and have a pair on Toms in a 5 which are a great fit. I have narrow feet and find them really comfy.

Ive had loads of pairs over the past few years and I find the sizing inconsistent. Sometimes they're pretty tight and sometimes they feel half a size too big. I've got really narrow feet so I'm not sure how suitable for wide feet they'd be

Tansytaylor · 27/05/2018 22:56

You buy them as a tight fit - the brand advise this. So they should fit but feel tight

The canvas gives quickly as you wear them.

Wide feet - Birkenstocks are true to size
I've had to go down a size in mine so that my feet fit perfectly
Definitely worth trying on or checking returns policy no matter the shoe
Personally i like trying the exact shoe or similar style

fleuriepeninsula · 28/05/2018 07:30

Toms are great for my wide feet and so comfortable.

I don’t personally find Birkenstocks to be very good for wide feet albeit my width is across the front of my foot, not through the heel.

I have 2 pairs of Toms. The normal ones are quite small but I have a gorgeous pair of metallic Avalon ones which are quite wide.
