What would you wear - not a posh venue, will be lunch and drinks.

Skinny jeans, blazer and heels or is that too boring?!

Hopeful bump for the morning crowd!

I would normally wear a dress, but slightly casual one. I much prefer dresses to jeans

ChristianGreysAnatomy · 27/05/2018 07:58

Definitely a jump suit - a plain one with slightly statement heels. Or a colourful one with fashionable tan sandals!

How old are the girls - and are you supervising? Or does 'posh' here mean nannies, so all you do is stand around drinking?

If the latter, than it's (probably) posh daytime code, which would usually mean dresses, or at least trousers other than jeans.

But if you will all be supervising your DDs (if indeed it is DDs - I'm assuming they are the girls you are most likely to be involved with, but it could be event showcasing particular girls and. You may be involved for some other reason - I've certainly been to Focus on Girls events of that sort), and therefore may have to periodically join in the children's activities and itwith them for cen yes, I think the skinnies/jacket option would work well (especially if in a brighter canvas than plain denim. And jumpsuit could workk well too.

I went to a champagne tea yesterday (all over 35):

2 wore nice unfussy dresses - both looked lovely (and comfortable)
1 wore a lovely sleeveless jump suit (all navy with smart lemon heels) - looked amazing
2 wore smart skirts with v. nice smart casual tops (I was one of these so no further comments!)
1 wore jeans, navy top and smart lemon jacket - looked amazing

I step daughter turned up for a quick drink with us - wore a cotton rag barely covering her body - looked amazing (probable due to her youth and beauty!)

Wear what you like and feel comfortable in!

Thanks all! I really want a jumpsuit but every time I find the perfect one it’s OOS!!

Viking not sure we are on the same page...it’s a boozy lunch with 30/40 year old girlfriends!

I think Viking knows exactly what you mean, but doesn't like your use of the word "girls"...

Pinkvici22 · 29/05/2018 21:35

Oh thanks Skippy...didn’t realise I was being inappropriate!

Yes, 'girls' is a term better avoided (especially in thread titles) in thread titles unless talking about girls - in the inalienable sense of female children.

I've just had an invitation about fundraiser for charity for girls, and i thought OP must have been invited to same event.

I think I'd wear a slightly retro looking (50s style) dress with a summery flower print. I can't wear high heels so I'd wear peep-toe wedges with it or ballet flats, but heels in a bright colour would be fun if you find them comfortable.
