What would you like to wear?

I was chatting with some girlfriends the other day and we were talking about different outfits we would like to be able to wear but really couldn't... either because of size, height, body shape etc.

My one style I would love to wear but feel I can't is a jumpsuit. Maybe floral with high heels. My stomach is too fat and my arse is too broad (but I'm working on it!)

Anyone else covet a particular style but just can't get away with it?

Vests.

Caramelapplecake · 26/05/2018 17:21

I would also love to wear a jumpsuit but I worry about using the toilet! Firstly I have a weak bladder so I'm concerned by the time I got it all undone it would be too late, and secondly wouldn't it drop down onto the floor/ get in the way?

Can anyone reassure me?

Jeans/trousers that are meant to be straight leg. My thighs are big in relation to the rest of me so straight leg becomes a kind of pair of flares with a tight bit around the thighs and a flappy bit around the lower leg. Gross.

Whyohwhy65 · 26/05/2018 17:31

Yes to jumpsuit but no matter where wintry them on they are always too long and I'm not even short Confused

MinaPaws · 26/05/2018 17:33

I've always loved the simplicity of a tailored, sleevless shift dress. My mum used to wear them when I was little and I thought she looked so beautiful in them. But she was 8 1/2 stone and 5 ft 8. I'm 5'3" with footballers thighs, even when I was very slim, so not possible, never has been. :(

MinaPaws · 26/05/2018 17:34

@Ofthread (great name) That's what I look like in straightlegs too. You describe it too vividly! Grin

CountFosco · 27/05/2018 15:33

High heels. I love shoes but high heels hurt so bad and are impossible to walk in. So I stick to comfortable flats and am vaguely jealous of those women who seen to stride about in heels without feeling like the little mermaid.

Tenpenny · 27/05/2018 15:38

I want to be able to wear slightly cropped tops to show a tiny bit of midriff.

bananamonkey · 27/05/2018 16:17

Dresses without opaques, I’m tallish but my legs cannot see the light of day.

Also sleeveless things, I only wear vest tops if it’s really hot and necessary.

Summer dressing is a freaking nightmare 😂

Jaimx86 · 27/05/2018 16:24

White jeans
Cigarette trousers

On paper, I'm slim enough (8-10) but at 5,5 my legs just aren't long enough and I look dumpy. I'd love long legs.

BlueEyedWonder · 27/05/2018 16:28

Maxi dresses and skirts - At 5ft tall, they all trail on the floor.

happypoobum · 27/05/2018 17:25

Another one here who would like to wear sleeveless tailored shift dresses.

With HH norkage and a mum tum this isn't really a good look on me Sad

DarlingNikita · 27/05/2018 17:41

Mine either! They look like I've just been dug up.

NellMangel · 27/05/2018 17:55

I can't do heels. I have wide feet so not many fit, plus broke ankle years ago and it aches and gives way so I need comfy flats.

I am very short legged so not being able to wear heels spoils lots of dresses and skirts.

Same with jumpsuit. They look classy with heels, too mechanic like with my footwear.

twinkledag · 27/05/2018 18:03

I'd love to be able to get away with no bra!!

RedPandaMama · 27/05/2018 18:04

A trench coat. Specifically, a Burberry trench coat. I've always dreamed of having one but I'm tall and booby with big hips and they just don't suit my body shape at all Sad

frasier · 27/05/2018 18:08

I want to wear shift dresses and pinafores 😩. Boobs to big for them to look right.

MistAmougstElephants · 27/05/2018 18:11

Light coloured jeans...
High heels....
Crop tops...I have never no matter my age been able to wear a crop top and I'm sad
Bikini....

LapinR0se · 27/05/2018 18:12

I am very very very pale and so I look awful in most summer clothes.

happypoobum · 27/05/2018 18:15

Oh Gosh Yes!! PINAFORES!!! Sad

DragonNoodleCake · 27/05/2018 18:26

Jumpsuits/playsuits etc. I'm only 5'5' but they are not long enough in the body for me at all. I'm just all the wrong proportions.
Anything halter neck - feels like my 34Gs are trying to strangle me.

DragonNoodleCake · 27/05/2018 18:26

And shorts - just look proportionately wrong on me

thenightsky · 27/05/2018 18:35

I've always wanted to wear a backless evening dress or sundress. Unfortunately I need engineered heavy duty bras to hold up my massive norks.

Also, high heels... I'd be over 6ft if I wore them. I've tried but I look like a bloke in drag who is desperately trying to hold a poo in.

PickleJuice · 27/05/2018 18:41

Dungarees. I would live in them if my arse was smaller. I'm angry that I never wore them pre DC.

MrsPear · 27/05/2018 19:45

Tube skirts
Shorts
Short skirts - I don’t mean bum skimming just a couple of inches above the knee.

I am very much pear shape and my thighs and bottom are by far my largest part of my body and there is no way people are going to realise.
