What to wear on a city break abroad?

I am going to Barcelona next week and wondering what to take to wear?
Also comfy shoes, i dont want pumps as i think my feet will get too hot, but comfy sandles?

these are pretty comfy.
I'd take more than one pair of shoes because I find everything gets uncomfortable if you're wearing them all day and walking a lot.

I wouldnt buy new shoes of any description if your plan is to break them in on holiday. I'd wear what you're already comfortable in for walking. Or trainers if you're going to be on your feet absolutely all day.
Mind you, Barcelona has a great metro and bus network for when you can't face any more walking'

Watching with interest. Off to Barcelona for the sonar festival in a few weeks. Bit clueless about what to wear to a festival that doesn't involve fields and camping. My style always falls a bit short of the mark. Hopeless at putting outfits together.
