Joules fleece lined waterproof jacket for £10, doesn't even look like it's been worn (although I did find a tissue in the pocket.. bork! so it had been at least once!). Seen me through lots of winter walks, it's fab.

I'm a massive irregular choice fan and people always seem to find them lurking in there but never been so lucky!

My mum got a brand new Barbour jacket for £6.

Duckswaddle · 24/05/2018 16:50

Jigsaw Breton top for £0.99
The Cambridge Satchel Company Satchel for £3.00

Oh and my best a full length Ted Baker ballgown for £5

Duckswaddle · 24/05/2018 17:27

I've also had mini boden pink gingham trousers and other bits for £1 each from a local charity shop, although no idea what happened to those! My little girl never got to wear them, must be hidden in the loft somewhere...

evilharpy · 24/05/2018 19:34

My entire wardrobe, almost.

Lots of Hobbs, Jigsaw, Joules, Coast, Jaeger, Boden, various bits of cashmere, several nice leather bags including Radley, Dune etc, Max Mara jacket, Max Mara brand new lovely sunglasses, brand new Converse. Not much proper designer but lots of higher end of the high street.

Also lots of sterling silver jewellery and my absolute favourite Monica Vinader necklace which I wear all the time.

I recently found two pairs of Joseph leather leggings for £6.99 each. A black pair and a red pair. I dithered about it but couldn't get them out of my mind so went back and bought them a few days later and they were miraculously still there. Still haven't worn them, but I've stroked them a lot.

Lanaa · 24/05/2018 20:30

There's someone near here who has exactly the same proportions as me, even down to the same size feet. This woman gets clothes made by a talented tailor and wears them once, then donates them to the charity shop where I snap them up. The clothes have no label but are well made in great fabrics. Last week she has donated a few dresses, and some Marina Rinaldi pieces. I love her even though I don't know who she is.

Wellfuckmeinbothears · 24/05/2018 20:36

Haggling in a charity shop is a really dick move. Especially when you’re buying bloody designer gear at less than 1% of the RRP. That’s truly shitty.

I hope you or any loved one never finds themselves suffering from some illness or needing care funded by charity.

halfwitpicker · 24/05/2018 20:42

Crikey lanaa, that's amazing Grin

HalleLouja · 24/05/2018 20:42

When I was younger I got a lovely leather jacket for £7. Have a lovely purple Fever dress not something I would have normally bought but love it. Used to have a black French Connection dress I wore to death for £15. Think I re-donated it when I was done with it.

LanaorAna2 · 24/05/2018 20:48

Black cashmere jumper dress, NWT, fiver. Bliss and currently in JL for 200 quid.

GunpowderAndLead · 24/05/2018 21:03

@Lanaa I bet she know you though! Wink I recently saw a little boy wearing my DS handmade trousers I donated. I was chuffed!

GunpowderAndLead · 24/05/2018 21:03

Would also like to add I'm extremely jealous I haven't ever found any treasures. Obviously don't have an eye for it

AndromedaPerseus · 24/05/2018 23:05

Recently in a branch of Mind an immaculate black silk velvet jacket for £2.50

SapphireSeptember · 24/05/2018 23:46

Haven't found much recently (I'm trying to avoid buying clothes unless I really need them.) BUT I found this watch recently for £6 (while dropping off some stuff I was getting rid of.) I had to buy it, it would have been rude not to. Grin

God I love MN.

This thread inspired me to go into my local (usually dispiriting) charity shop this morning.

Found £320 Elizabeth & James jacket, immaculate for FOUR POUNDS! Grin

I love a bargain, but will join the chorus of you should be ashamed of haggling in a charity shop.

I'm not one for names generally (though quite chuffed with my recent David Emmanual dress for £8) but was rather chuffed with the fact dd got her Prom dress for £8.
Today we've just got in and dd (who is 16, so adult clothes) has just got a dress, 2 tops and a pair of jeans for a total of £14.50.

Love charity shop shopping.

Hellywelly10 · 25/05/2018 15:02

Kenneth cole brown bucket bag new with tags bought 5 years ago. Using it today.

MrsSchadenfreude · 25/05/2018 15:13

DD1 got an entire new wardrobe, including clothes from Hobbs, Whistles, M & S Autograph, Top Shop and Next the other week, for not very much money at all. SE London chazzers are excellent.

Eesha · 25/05/2018 15:18

Any recommended shops in north London?

whymewhyme · 25/05/2018 16:12

About 3 years ago I found a pair of Dubarry boots for £25 they were in perfect condition! Dubarry cost around £300 new. They lasted me 4 years, wore them every day!
