Help a pear shape with cankles find a skirt for work!

Can anyone help please? I never wear skirts but have changed job recently. New job requires black or navy skirt or trousers and white blouse. I don’t want to be stuck with trousers all summer - problem is I’m pear shaped, no bust and have cankles! No extremes of fashion (I’m late 40s) size 10 top, size 12 bottom, 5’7” tall. I just want to look professional and not frumpy.

I have no clue about these things. Can anyone suggest a style I could wear?

A line with some court type heels. That will streamline your hips/bum and the heels will lengthen your legs and naturally make your ankles look more shapely

Thanks, Green. A Line? I’ll take a look - everywhere seems full of pencil skirts round here!

Could you get away with culottes? That would be my preference over a skirt. If a skirt, I tend to wear below knee bodycon (but currently pg so not at the moment!).

Opaque or sheet tights and heels under a skater style dress or skirt should look decent.

I’m the same size as you but an inch taller and find pencil skirts the most flattering.
I also have cankles and find shoes that are a bit wider or slightly chunky balance them out.
