What could I wear with this pinafore dress?

I love pinafore dresses and think they are so useful and versatile. I saw this one on the Next website,although it's Jack Wills. It's a bit of a different shape to my other pinafores, so a) is the pinafore dress actually nice? B)what could I wear it with?

I also love a pinafore. I’ve found myself buying some lovely casual ones and even a smarter one for work too.

I would wear a basic, well fitting, t-shirt. Stripes or plain block colours like black and white will always look good.

I sometimes put a flowery blouse underneath too, though this depends on whether it is fitted enough.

Pinafores are also versatile in winter for adding polo neck or chunky jumper underneath.

Ooh out of interest, where did you find your smarter pinafore? Been looking for one for ages, as pinafores always look good with shirts as well ! (Maybe not with the one pictured, but I can give it a go!)
I see on the website they've just added the pinafore pictured in white....I'll see if the blue denim one suits me first, but I may have to buy the white one as well if it's good 😊 Can't believe I didn't wear pinafores a few years ago, don't know what I'd do without them!

Debenhams can be good for 'smart' pinafores.

I think it would go lovely with a plain white thirst and white tennis shoes/plimsolls.

I got a couple of smart grey ones from new look recently. I just have long sleeved black fitted jersey tops to wear underneath.
