It needs to be silky/chiffon-y, it's for a dressy occasion. I will be wearing a hat put it that way!

My hat is cream so I'm wondering if that's too white, right sort of thing though!

Look on ebay. I buy most of my silk tops there for a few quid (often top brands/new). Failing that i have M&S 20% off codes if you'd like one?
