selfridges stylist - anyone done it?

Hello,

I have no ability to choose clothes, let alone the time so I am thinking of a stylist. Has anyone used selfridges?

I did once, years and years ago. I was looking for a new suit for work (I'm not a corporate high-flyer but needed something for interviews/meetings). Clearly neither my budget nor my personal style met with the stylist's approval - at one point I asked if he could suggest tops to wear under a suit, he looked me up and down and suggested I try M&S as there wouldn't be anything suitable for me in Selfridges (nothing to do with size or age - I was / am a very average size, and was then in my mid-twenties).

I wrote a letter of complaint afterwards and got a very disinterested letter in reply. I haven't set foot in Selfridges since (except once to use the loos )

John Lewis' personal styling service is supposed to be very good though!

I used it for a works event. Absolutely loved it. Would do it again in a heartbeat. I got a dress, underwear and shoes.

I do get the impression they expect you spend quite alot. But then its not a cheap shop.
