Hi,

I'm currently on maternity leave and have no time at all to do hair and make up as you can imagine.

I think I should invest in some skin care products so that at least my skin can look a bit better.

I have no idea where to start so would like to know what you find that works for you or what sort of skin care regime you follow?

I would say I have quite dry skin.

Thanks in advance!

The best skincare I have ever used is a session in the gym followed by twenty minutes in a sauna, then a shower.
You are not putting any harmful chemicals onto your skin, plus you are removing waste sweat products from your skin pores.
The feeling is amazing.

Vicky1990 absolutely on nearly every post on S&B I want to say to people - no matter what you put on your skin - exercise and drinking water will make it look better than anything you can slap on it!

Exercise, water and avocado oil.

I glide it on after bath/shower, skin has never been softer.
£2.25 from Tesco.

Heimish All Clean Balm for an oil/balm cleanser - this is my absolute holy grail product!
Pixi Glow Tonic for a toner.
If you're suffering with dryness then definitely The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid but make sure you apply it to a wet face and let your face dry. If you can afford a bit more then the Hylamide HA is the best thing I've ever tried. The Ordinary Niacinamide for dabbing on spots or red patches - it takes the redness out in a day.
Something with retin A or retinol in for anti-aging.
Hylamide Sub-Q eyes is the best eye stuff I've tried.
Alpha-H Daily Essential Moisturiser - it's SPF50, goes on really nicely, and dries down to a lovely smooth matte finish. Not really hydrating enough for nighttime though.
Some form of facial oil - I'm currently using Drunk Elephant Marula Oil and love it.

Once or twice a week The Ordinary AHA 30% facial peel. This shit will make your skin feel super smooth and look amazing! I couldn't live without it.

With limited time I'd cut it down to:
Heimish All Clean Balm
Pixi Glow Tonic
Either The Ordinary Granactive Retinoid 2% in Squalane (then work your way up to their Retinol 1%) OR Hylamide SubQ Anti-Age - preferably the latter as it's more expensive but I have found it to work much better/quicker.
Moisturiser with SPF for daytime
Facial oil (Rosehip or Marula) for nighttime
Maybe add in Hylamide SubQ Eyes as well if you have time for an extra step.

Sheet masks are a fun way of adding extra hydration as well. I bought this one and like it a lot. I've also got the Tosowoong Propolis ones to try (love honey products!).
