Hello lovely MNers,

I want to treat myself to a new cleanser after getting stuck in a lazy rut of using cheapo Simple face wash post baby...

Happy to spend up to about £40 and I have normal skin (that can get a bit dry and dull).

I've used Eve Lom balm before and it made me really spotty, so maybe not that 😄

Thanks for your help!!!

xxx

I always come back to Liz Earle cleanse and polish , for a special deep cleanse 3-4 times a week Niod Sanskrit saponins is amazing

Louislovesmud · 19/05/2018 15:14

The body shop chamomile balm cleanser is my fave for removing make-up. Liz Earle is also always fab

glasshalfsomething · 19/05/2018 15:16

Clarins anti pollution cream cleanser is brilliant. I alternate that and the pink Nivea cream cleanser (@ £1.99). To be fair, I need to stop with the Clarins as there’s not much difference to my skin!

BagelGoesWalking · 19/05/2018 15:19

Body Shop Camomile Balm Cleanser, La Roche Posay Toleriane Dermo Cleanser or Avène Extremely Gentle Cleanser.

Fluffycloudland77 · 19/05/2018 15:28

Grape seed oil. Antioxidant, removes all make up.

I love the tropic one, if you've got someone that sells it near you. The toner and moisturiser are amazing too.

Goosegettingfat · 19/05/2018 16:49

Another vote for body shop chamomile oil- love it

LordEmsworth · 19/05/2018 17:56

Origins Checks and Balances is my all time favourite

AnaViaSalamanca · 19/05/2018 18:11

ceramic slip by sunday riley. I can't recommend it enough.

McDougal · 19/05/2018 18:23

Another one for the Body Shop camomile cleansing butter. It's amazing and you can often get discount codes when buying online so I stock up!

DorothyBastard · 19/05/2018 18:24

I always return to Emma Hardie’s moringa balm as my first cleanse, it’s so luxurious but not heavy. I have very dehydrated skin and wear a full face of makeup every day, and this gets it all off. I also double cleanse but it’s not always necessary with the Emma Hardie balm

Lush ultrabland is my absolute favourite for your first cleanse and then following with a hot cloth cleanser. Double cleansing is essential

In summer I love Boots Botanics balm.

Otherwise I alternate between the Body Shop Chamomile butter (is that what people mean by balm? I'm not in the UK and we get a butter in a tin?) Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish (both the original rosemary and eucalyptus and the lavendar and iirc neroli)

The one I see recommended the most on here is Clinique Take the Day Off which I might try sooner or later when I've finished one of the ones I've got.

Apileofballyhoo · 19/05/2018 19:52

The Rose and geranium Liz Earle is gorgeous.

Liz38 · 19/05/2018 22:37

I'm another Liz Earle fan, used C and P for about 15 years. I'm actually on different products at the moment and it's really working for me. Micellar water to cleanse, nip and fab extreme pads 3x a week and then moisturiser. Ifmy skin feels particularly sorry I might follow the micellar water with plain water and a Liz Earle muslin cloth. I just can't afford C and P right now. And I really love the special editions.

goose1964 · 19/05/2018 22:40

Bee good honey and propolis, it is a hot cloth cleanser and smells gorgeous

Foodylicious · 19/05/2018 22:41

Paula's choice exfoliator!
Sooo amazing

missbonita · 19/05/2018 22:42

I love Sunday Riley Ceramic Slip too, and the Eve Lom balm is fab :)

Itsautumn · 19/05/2018 22:44

Your good skin cream hot cloth cleanser is fab. Nadine Baggot (beauty journo) recommends it and it’s great. Gets rid of make up easily without drying the skin. And very affordable.

Thisimmortalcurl · 19/05/2018 22:50

Really love Elemis cleansing balm, the normal one is great but the rose one is fantastic.

Ostagazuzulum · 20/05/2018 05:35

I’m another one for Liz Earle cleanse and polish. My skin improved loads when I started using it. But I read online that the Aldi hot polish one is an excellent dupe. I’ve just bought the Aldi one (lacura) for 3.99 out of curiosity. The ingredients are practically identical. I’ve used it for about 5 days now and it’s just as good as Liz Earle. I’m going back to Aldi to stock up in bulk as it’ll save me a fortune!
