Bare legs at a wedding. I won't fake tan. ..

... I saw a woman today with pale bare legs. She had great skin. I do not have great skin. I'm blotchy. I wondered if there was a pale alternative to the concept of fake tan. Can I literally just put foundation on my legs? ??

I've worn very sheer toeless tights from M&S - the look is very flattering. Because they're so sheer I had a spare pair in my bag in case I put my fingers through them! I didn't, they're surprisingly tough.

Far better than worrying about streaky tans/orange legs.

Ideally there would be a product like that just even out my skin tone rather than darken it. the Sally Hansen air brush legs does just that imo. I used it when I had a dress and shoes that just didn't work with tights.

Another one for Sally Hansen, fab product

BangingOn · 19/05/2018 08:11

This Works Skin Deep Leg Oil is pricey but makes my legs look a million times better once I’ve used it for a week or so.

margaritasbythesea · 19/05/2018 08:13

FWIW Sally Hansen was too dark and yellow for me. I am a redhead and the colour of new milk.

Kazplus2 · 19/05/2018 08:32

I have very fair skin and normally wear tights. Had a summer wedding last year and wore a midi dress so only bottom of legs on show. I wore an over the counter spray tan (instant / wash -off) just to give a very slight tint of colour.

Lettherebelight · 19/05/2018 08:42

Can anyone suggest a brand of tights that will do this magic disappearing thing? I've never got on with summer tights (I wear fine wool ones in winter) but would love to wear dresses more

Roystonv · 19/05/2018 08:55

I too need pointing in the direction of these tights and at a reasonable price if pos. Have noted m & s but do you know the name? Used to love wearing coloured tights in the past (old gimmer) which hid a multitude of sins.

beansforbreakfastonceagain · 19/05/2018 09:00

Dermablend do body makeup.

Etymology23 · 19/05/2018 09:19

I wear m and s hold ups in natural tan (used to wear the “shine” ones, but they don’t make them any more - they do in tights still). I imagine a non-tanning person wouldn’t want these - I have skin that tans extremely easily, so they don’t look orange. I think maybe “illusion” would be a better colour if one has a paler colouring.

Another vote for Sally Hansen Airbrush legs. Amazing stuff and so natural looking. I use the light one and it just evens out the skin tone without looking fake.

Teacuphiccup · 19/05/2018 09:23

I know you don’t want to get one but my life was transformed when I got my first spray tan a couple of weeks ago. I got it soooo pale but it totally transformed my body, I had never understood how women looked good in bikinis before but the secret is fake tan. It covers your veins and helps with cellulite. I’m a total convert.

ProseccoPoppy · 19/05/2018 09:24

Wolford tights are very good. Bit pricy but very nice quality and you get a huge range of shades to choose from so you can get them to properly match your skin tone - www.wolfordshop.co.uk/hosiery/tights/satin-touch-20-tights/18378.html?dwvar_18378_color=2401

Fluffycloudland77 · 19/05/2018 09:30

I’ve used foundation on my legs.

Acopyofacopy · 19/05/2018 09:33

Following with interest. I have a wedding to go to, but an illness has left me with scars and dark patches (like bruises) on my legs. I don’t think any spray tan is going to help. Any tights recommendations?

Perfectway · 19/05/2018 09:42

M&S have a big range. I wear the sheer toeless tights (can’t wear hold ups) and they are practically invisible but flatter your legs.

I like sally hansen too but watch out if it rains!

dudsville · 19/05/2018 09:44

Thanks all, I've ordered some wolford tights. That makes so much sense. I don't know why I hadn't thought of it.

Another vote for sally hansen, I have terribly pale legs and it makes them look nice and even, almost like I’m wearing very sheer tights. And it doesn’t budge until you wash it off.

I fake tan my upper half but struggle to find one that “takes” properly on my legs.

Methenyouplus4 · 19/05/2018 20:59

Those of you who wear toe-less tights, wear does the tight end? Round ankle? Before toes start? Just curious if they would only work with certain stypes of shoe?

LePamplemoussse · 19/05/2018 21:09

Tights are de rigeur for weddings, I don’t often see women with bare legs at summer weddings (I attend a lot of weddings).

Perfectway · 19/05/2018 21:51

The toeless tights go between your big toe and leave all the toes open.

hecallsmebunny · 19/05/2018 21:58

I second vita liberata body blur. I used to use Sally Hansen airbrush legs. Body blur is totally worth the extra £. Looks so natural
