Help me with my son’s haircut please!

My son is 6. He has forward growing, thin and flat hair. It’s mid brown and straight. At the back it goes in all directions!
The barber keeps cutting a straight fringe across the front, and it looks bad! I asked him to keep some length to sweep it to one side, but it won’t go like that. If it gets any length to it it just goes really flat.
To add to the problem he has fairly prominent ears! (But a gorgeous face!)
My son’s doesn’t like it spiked up and isn’t keen on any products (fair enough, he’s 6).
Any ideas? Thank you Smile

Does he worry about his hair? As long as it's practical for him, don't worry what it looks like.

Placemarking. My 10 yo ds has exactly the same hair, by the sounds of it, but blonde. It just doesn't lie down well. It's either messy and sticking out in all directions or dorkishly flat!

Sounds like my DS too. Change barber or take him to a hairdresser - it took a few goes, but we finally found a barber who could give him a decent cut. It’s a bit longer and messier at the front, neater and slightly shorter at the back to try and tame his double crown.
