16 yr old dd - prom dress apocalypse

Hi everyone.

Dd has her prom in a few weeks and as usual has done nothing about getting a dress. I have sent of for quite a few and we have looked at literally hundreds online but she never likes any of them. Does anyone know any good little websites or shops? we are London based.
She is about 5 ft 4, slim size 8 with hips and very pale, so pastel colours aren't any good. Colours that look lovely on her are cobalts, burgundies, that sort of thing, warm strong colours She wants a maxi dress but nothing too flouncy / lacey/ embellished....sigh. She has very slim arms and a chiselled neckline so wants to show that off. She is not big busted and has a slim waist. Everything I suggest is an 'old lady dress' according to her Sad. But she won't look herself. I don't want to get anything from overseas as we sent off for two dresses from abroad and they arrived looking nothing like the picture, plus cost a fortune to return.

if anyone has any bright ideas please pass them on. Thanks fro reading!

Just coming to say quiz as well, ASOS, top shop, ted baker, coast, chi chi possibly river island all worth a look, or maybe go up town you have the large hof & the biggest stores of most of the brands that have been mentioned.

If she is too dreamy and disorganised to buy herself a dress, then she can't go to the prom. Easy. Her choice.

Why is this your problem? You'll never please her, instead of ordering wildly from abroad and making this your mission, just give her the budget/money and step back.

You seem slightly over-involved and overinvested!

Oh thank you @snowboardingqueen. I found it bizarre to begin with as I tan very easily and like to be a bit brown (though would never go to a tanning salon or use fake stuff) but dd has always been very careful with her skin and really prizes her paleness. She is right of course, and I am the naughty, unreformed one. Blush

Got mine from Quiz - can buy online as well. Not overly priced and have a great range and fit well

My dd has got her dress but she said your dd should look here.
Missguided

Give DD a budget and leave it up to her. Getting a dress needn't take weeks of planning, if she does't want it to- even if she leaves it until the day before, she will find something.

surely she has the time to just scroll through dresses on ASOS? just to give you at least an idea of what she wants?
