Have namechanged for this as it is fairly identifying. If anyone can help I will be so grateful - I am stressing so much about finding an outfit!
I will be speaking at a literary event in London in mid June. Early evening. Central. I no longer live in London and have nowhere to change so will need to travel in what I wear for it, so it needs to be relatively comfy - no big heels.
I am looking for something that looks sophisticated without being OTT, and reflects my usual style - I want to look like me, iyswim. I usually wear jeans, dungarees, DMs or Converse. Occasionally a waistcoat or poncho. I have a brown leather biker-style jacket which I love and would probably want to wear over the top of whatever I choose. As you can probably tell, I am not particularly fashionable!
I am 42, size ten, pale (although I use gradual tanner to take the edge off), have dark, shoulder-length hair. I have recently put on a stone thanks to medication and so I am not particularly body confident. I am especially self-conscious about my stomach.
At the moment I am veering towards a black jeans, nice top, Converse combo. Does that sound right? Can anyone offer any inspiration? Am feeling frumpy and desperate. Could spend up to £100.
