How do the two compare? I ask because I love molton brown but would like to save money on my shampoo/shower gel.

For anyone who has used both-
Can you get 6 months out of a 300ml bottle of body shop shower gel?

Does a 300ml bottle of shampoo from body shop last 3-4 months?

I got this www.thebodyshop.com/en-gb/range/spa-of-the-world/spa-of-the-world-tahitian-tiare-bath-shower-oil-in-gel/p/p002658 a few weeks back and although it’s lovely it didn’t last anywhere near as long as the equivalent size MB.

Haven’t used body shop shampoo though. Aveda camomile etc m.lookfantastic.com/aveda-pure-plant-camomile-shampoo-1000ml/10541373.html is cheaper ml for ml and lasts longer but my DH prefers MB. We are just trying some different ones at the minute. The new www.moltonbrown.co.uk/store/bath-body/shampoo/1973-mandarin-clary-sage-hair-body-wash/HLC3T124/ is nice on the hair but doesn’t smell as amazing as the others.

I use a body shop shower gel about twice a week and for a few hand washes in between. Nowhere near 6 months.

immortalmarble · 17/05/2018 22:19

I am a big Crabtree and Evelyn fan for something in the middle. I love nice smells.

MagicFajita · 18/05/2018 13:29

Thanks all , I'll stick with the MB shower gel because I do love it , but I'll give body shop shampoo a try.

Although MB is £20 per bottle , it's only £40 pa on shower gel. Not much considering I save money elsewhere.

If you are quick & fancy jo malone you can get a free shower gel/oil with a purchase of -£45 so if it works for you it makes a decent bargain if you can get a treat or gift-if yo don't like what you grab try again I've had a few shower gels

Mountainsoutofmolehills · 18/05/2018 14:39

aveda is far superior than molton brown or body shop.

Sparrowlegs248 · 18/05/2018 16:30

@MagicFajita do you just need to use so little of the MB? Is that why it lasts so Well?

Nanasueathome · 18/05/2018 16:33

QVC have regular Molton Brown offers and their prices are always very competitive
I often buy from outlets too....think Bicester Village, Gunwharf Quays type of thing. I stock up when I go there and the shower gels work out at under £15 each

clothcollector · 18/05/2018 17:10

how can a 300ml shower gel last 6 months for one person?

i shower once and a second time on exercise days (several times per week) and i get about 2 weeks from a shower gel.

MagicFajita · 18/05/2018 17:18

Yes , it lasts well because you use so little and I use one of those wash net (loofah) things. I wouldn't have believed it myself if I hadn't tried MB as I went through one £1 shower gel per month previously.

I've never used Aveda products , I'll take a look at them.

Body shop are doing MLM's now which to me has totally cheapened the brand . If you have to pay 20 people then the products aren't with much 🙄

clothcollector · 18/05/2018 17:26

ah ok. fair enough! i've has them in the past but the cord always seems to go manky looking

MagicFajita · 18/05/2018 17:27

Oh really? That is off putting.
I've not actually bought from body shop since the 90s when I used those animal shaped soaps as a teenSmile

NapQueen · 18/05/2018 17:29

Molton Brown shower gel is amazing. Teenyest amount needed and I can still smell it on me at the end of the day.

MagicFajita · 18/05/2018 17:33

Aveda shampoo looks good according reviews.

Thank you all for your suggestions.

A 300MLshower gel would last a week and bit for me.
2 showers a day.

kalinkafoxtrot45 · 19/05/2018 09:27

I love Body Shop but nothing beats Molton Brown Gingerlily for staying power. It’s an absolutely beautiful scent.

MagicFajita · 19/05/2018 09:37

I might try that one next , I'm using pink pepperpod at the moment with the cloudberry shampoo.
