Is this a horrible colour?

Saw this jacket (Sainsbury's premium range) in a charity shop today for £25. Needs a bit of leather cleaner round the neck but otherwise perfect. Not a usual colour for me but at that price felt it was worth a punt. Just showed it to DH and he said 'ah, reminds me of breast fed baby shit' Angry.

So, what do you think? Straight back to charity shop? The thing is, in real life, he may not be that far off!

Oh, picture

Is this a horrible colour?

Can't see a pic, but in general I think it's about how something looks on the individual. Some people look stunning in mustard yellow, but on me it is indeed horrible. Although your DH's comment might have changed his you feel about it Sad

MikeUniformMike · 16/05/2018 18:06

It's ok but I doubt you will wear it after what he said. Get a refund,

ilovecherries · 16/05/2018 18:08

He is now being abjectly apologetic. Git. Grin

I love this, with a pair of jeans and brown boots it's classic chic, and able to work by anybody. In winter a cute checked scarf in any colour will go lovely too. But I agree with the other comment that if you've heard negative comments off OH you're going to be less likely to be keen on it

cushioncovers · 16/05/2018 18:11

Apologies in advance sorry

That's a bloody awful colour makes me feels sick to look at it. It's neither cream or brown but some milky shitty colour in between

RegionalTreasure · 16/05/2018 18:11

Isn't it just beige?

ilovecherries · 16/05/2018 18:14

Regional, I think Cushion covers it!

Just seems like a darker cream /lighter beige colour to me. A bit meh but not downright objectionable.

ilovecherries · 16/05/2018 18:15

Posted too soon. No, it's not really beige. The label says stone, but it IS a sort of milky shitty colour.

I can't see anything nauseating about it. Confused I'd call that a white coffee colour.

Did your dh have to be such a dick about it? Does he have brown hair? I'd be tempted to inform him his hair is the colour of dog shit.

Meh, looks nice on the model. Would look good with dark wash jeans and a white top. If it fits really well keep it and wear to annoy your husband.

ilovecherries · 16/05/2018 18:19

Ah, he's a nice guy, he's upset that he said anything, he is normally very kind. And he actually said it in a nostalgic sort of way.

I suppose he's changed a few nappies in his time which redeems him slightly.

halfwitpicker · 16/05/2018 18:25

Milky shitty colour

Katisha · 16/05/2018 18:31

I really like it

MinaPaws · 16/05/2018 18:37

I love that colour. It looks like milky coffee not baby poo. much nicer than beige which is quite a dead colour. It's a great neutral.

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 16/05/2018 18:39

You could be derogatory about most colours in the same way.

Dark green; Mouldy fungus
Cream; An infected verruca
Maroon; varicose veins
Straw/yellow; stale piss

Well you get the idea Grin I think colours only look awful on someone if they really don't suit their own colouring.
I can't feel strongly about a jacket in a neutral shade.

pictish · 16/05/2018 18:40

Yes it is, sorry. I’m not a fan of beige, taupe, camel, oatmeal or any other guise of pale brown though. Some people think it’s tasteful and classic...maybe you’re one of those. If you like beige, keep it.

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 16/05/2018 18:44

I think people are being sniffy because it's from a supermarket. If you'd said it was a designer jacket or from Hush you'd probably have everyone gushing about it. Confused

pictish · 16/05/2018 18:47

Not me...I hate beige whether it’s Sainsbo or Prada. If I could afford a beige Prada jacket, I wouldn’t buy one. I’d buy one in a nice colour.

ilovecherries · 16/05/2018 18:51

Sainsbury's via the charity shop (and not even a naice one, to be honest!). I only went in to buy a card and spotted it amongst a sea of Primark.

Fair do's pictish I hate very bright colours. Hopefully we can pass each other in the street without thinking that colour makes me feel sick, I can't look at it, ughh it looks like poo that would be very childish.

pictish · 16/05/2018 19:01

Err...ok. 😕

DramaAtTheTurkeyCafe · 16/05/2018 19:13

That colour really suits me (I'm ginger with very orangey skin tone), and I've never thought of it as looking like any kind of poo. I'd wear it with black or some sort of rich cinnamony colour.

SayImADreamer · 16/05/2018 19:14

Dont like the colour or the cut
