Too many chins for the chop?

Hi
I have (as you can see from the pic) long ish hair with what was a full fringe now more like a side fringe. It's naturally wavy but it's been blow dried straight (ish) here.
I really want to have it cut shorter, it is so long and thick it takes an age just to wash and condition it! Now it's warmer I find myself just typing it up in a bun anyway most of the time so I think why not get it cut shorter?
However I have gained a few pounds recently and can see it in my face which makes me wonder if a bob wouldn't be flattering? I was thinking of a bob which is longer at the front and shorter st the back?
I'm also thinking of changing the colour as it's tending to brassy even though I use the purple shampoo 3 times a week. I love the new rose brown colour that's been said to be the hot colour for 2018 but i am starting to chicken out and my hair appointment is booked for tomorrow!
Any thoughts welcome, thanks

For some reason I can only see the in you like - it's lovely and not mumsy.

villageshop · 17/05/2018 19:01

Hope you like it! Would love to see a pic.

Got here too late for giving any advice but placemarking for the pic!

Hope you’re happy with it @Acunningruse

Also, well taken care of longer hair always looks better in my opinion. More feminine too.

I would say healthy hair always looks best and for many people that means short hair looks a lot better than long hair. Nothing worse than long hair with split ends destroyed by repeated dying.

I think any cut can look unstylish if it's badly done and any cut can look stylish on the right person. My sister has very shiny and straight brown hair that looks really sharp in a bob. I have a workmate who has beautiful long (natural) blond curls. Neither would suit the other's haircut.

And as for 'feminine'? Well, I'm a female so everything about me (including my thick, healthy and very stylish pixie cut) is feminine.

Eek! I love it so far...styling it myself tomorrow will be the real test!

HollyBollyBooBoo · 17/05/2018 21:53

Really lovely and I also liked it in the before pic!

Mamaohana · 17/05/2018 22:42

Lovely! My hair’s styled a bit like that and you’ve got way less chins than me Grin.
I do twist some strands around a straightener to curl them a bit each morning but other than that it is quite easy to style.

MyRelationshipIsWeird · 17/05/2018 22:54

Yes, perfect! I was going to suggest a bit longer than the pic you posted but I was too late! I love it. Mine is short and I’m hoping to grow it into something like your new cut. Love the colour too.

villageshop · 18/05/2018 00:10

It's lovely, OP. Nothing like the photo though, yours is longer with more layers. I wish mine had been cut like yours - mine's like your first pic so will take a few months to get some length back. Really envious!

TheVanguardSix · 18/05/2018 00:17

The colour is fantastic!

I was more interested in your colour than the cut, though the cut looks great.
Your colour is much richer, deeper. It was a bit brassy before.
Excellent cut!

Just thought I'd update as I've had shorter hair for a week now and I'm loving it! It does need something doing on a morning either straightening or blow drying after washing BUT because it's shorter it actually takes less time. My hair feels so much healthier for having had a good bit cut off and I feel much more groomed every day. Wish I had taken the plunge ages ago!

This took 15 minutes to blow dry this morning
